The annual list, which spotlights the celebs with the mostmoney and fame from the worlds of movies, TV, sports, books and modelling. One of the biggest surprises on the list this year: Taylor Lautner makes his debut while Robert Pattinson drops off the list.

Both Twilight stars earned the same amount of money over the last 12 months, $26.5 million. So how did Lautner beat Pattinson? Fame. Lautner simply garnered more press attention. Because Lautner had the filmAbduction in theaters within the last 12 months in addition to Twilight: Breaking Dawn, he was in the press and on TV and the web more than Pattinson.

To compile our list we talk to dozens of agents, managers, producers, lawyers and other people in the know to come up with estimates for what each celebrity earned over the past 12 months. We don’t deduct for things like taxes, agent or manager fees.

We then combine that earnings number with a fame metric based on web hits, press mentions, TV and radio mentions, magazine covers and social networking prowess. The result is out Celebrity 100 power list.

FilmNation Entertainment to Handle International Sales Starting at Cannes

Los Angeles, May 14, 2012 – FilmNation Entertainment will introduce the action thriller TRACERS to international buyers at the Cannes Film Festival. From the producers of Twilight and Dear John, TRACERS will star Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga, Abduction) and will be directed by Daniel Benmayor (Bruc, the Manhunt). Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of Temple Hill Entertainment will produce. WME will handle sales in the US.

New York City bicycle messenger, Cam (Lautner) is the hottest thing on two wheels, but is in debt to an organized crime gang. When he crashes his bike into a sexy stranger, Nikki, Cam is immediately seduced by her and the thrill of the world of parkour.

At Cannes, FilmNation Entertainment is also handling international sales on THE BLING RING from director Sofia Coppola. In addition, FilmNation has two in-competition titles: LAWLESS from director John Hillcoat starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy; and Jeff Nichols’ MUD which is also produced by FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder, starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon.

The movie starred Sandler, along with pals Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade.

Nickelodeon has confirmed that Taylor Lautner will be in attendance at this Saturday’s Kids Choice Awards, which will air live on Nick at 8/7 central! See who else is set to attend here.

Hunger Games — the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling young-adult novel starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth – was little known on U.K. shores 12 months ago but despite unseasonable warm barbecue weather for March, still managed to open with more than twice the box office of the first Twilight film here.

Lionsgate U.K. co-founder and chief executive Zygi Kamasa told The Hollywood Reporter that a big part of the U.K. release strategy began with the source novel and worked closely with the book’s publisher Scholastic here to do just that.

While Lionsgate was rolling out the Lautner-starrer Abduction in September last year, the savvy distributor gave the first 20,000 theatergoers a copy of Colllins’ book.
“In the U.S. there really wasn’t a need to build awareness for the book in the same way as we had to here,” Kamasa said.

Taylor Lautner has said that he has grown to “understand” the passion Twilight fans have for the series.

Speaking to Company magazine, the actor – Jacob Black in the movies – discussed the enthusiastic reaction he receives from fans around the world.

“It can be difficult. But now I’m used to the screaming and the occasional grabbing,” Lautner said. “The first time it ever happened I was like, ‘WOAH! What’s going on? Why are they screaming? Why are they touching me?’

“But now I get the fans’ passion. We understand it so it’s not that crazy to us anymore. I just have to be more strategic about where I go, so I don’t go to the hippest restaurants at the busiest times, and I try not to tweet before I go.”

Discussing time spent in London, the 19-year-old said: “I’ve been there three or four times, but it’s always flying straight in and out on promotion for a film. This time I’m here a bit longer, so I’m going to hit up Rob [Pattinson] about where I should go. I’ve heard there are some great restaurants, so I’m really looking forward to trying them.”

Admitting to being a fan of British girls, he added: “The British accent is definitely not a negative!”
