Starting on Tuesday (January 3), we’re asking you to vote for the movie you’re most excited to see in 2012 based on our list of 32 titles. The following week, our list will pare down to a sweet 16 based on your votes. Those remaining movies will be pitted against each other in a series of single-elimination battles until only one film is left standing—the film that you’re most excited about in 2012.

Can the growing buzz on “The Hunger Games” outmatch the anticipated ”Breaking Dawn” finale? Will a comic book movie flick like “The Dark Knight Rises” or “The Amazing Spider-Man” take the top prize? Which upcoming Snow White movie – “SWATH” or “Mirror Mirror” – is truly the fairest of them all?

We’ll find out what you think when the Smackdown begins. Tune into MTV Movies on January 3 for the first round of voting!

With awards season right around the corner, Hollywood’s hottest leading men are gunning for big-time recognition, but one award is right in their grasp: the E! Celeb of the Year!

It’s our high-stakes tournament where we award $25,000 to the charity of the winner’s choice!

So which big-screen stars survived to make to the final two? Check it out…

The results came down to the wire! But in the end, it was an upset for the No. 1-ranked player, Ryan Gosling. His matchup against No. 4 Ryan Reynolds was a tough one, and in the end when the dust settled, the Green Lantern star had just barely edged out Gosling with 51 percent of the vote! It’s definitely a surprise, but we have no doubt Ryan will be back and competing next year.

The other matchup went a little smoother. Sure No. 6 Johnny Depp had cruised past earlier competition like George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio, but he was no match for No. 2 Robert Pattinson. In the end, Captain Jack just couldn’t cast the Twilight vamp overboard and succumbed to R.Pattz’s 70 percent of the vote.

Remember how much is at stake! E! will donate $25,000 to the charity of the winner’s choice, so be sure to vote! And if you don’t see your favorite in our tournament, try to get them in as a wild card! The choice is in your hands!

Ladies and gentlemen, the A-list gloves are coming off and these Leading Men are ready to duke it out for the title in our $25,000 E! Celeb of the Year tournament!

Round two was full of tough matchups, but the dust has settled and our final four are here.

First, we have to give our condolences to Team Jacob. No. 7 Taylor Lautner was paired up against his immortal foe No. 2 Robert Pattinson, and he just didn’t have the strength to oust Bella’s new husband. In the end, R.Pattz brought in 67 percent of the votes. Hope that reconciliation among the pack is going smoothly for Jake.

Earlier this week, Oscars producer Bruce Cohen teased a Twilight segment at The 83rd Academy Awards ceremony, which will take place tomorrow and air live on ABC at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Summit has confirmed that the surprise is not Breaking Dawn footage or cast appearances. But, nonetheless, the Twi-blogosphere is all atwitter about the news. So will you be tuning in to see what the hubbub is?

So, the Eclipse DVD will be released pretty soon for most of us, and I want to know which of the DVD extras you guys are most looking forward to!

This last week or so has brought us some excellent photos from the Rio, Brazil set of Breaking Dawn. Personally, I’ve been enjoying the heck out of them, but I want to know what you guys think!

I keep seeing tips and costumes to dress like a vampire for Halloween, or more specifically, a Twilight vampire or character (see Twilight Poison’s costume and makeup guide). And I’ve heard from several of our readers who are putting the finishing touches on their Twi costumes. I have gotten some rather heated emails and comments about my posts for the parody film Vampires Suck, which mainly takes aim at Twilight, but also at other films/shows in the vampire genre. many of you are very offended by the idea of it, and others of you have told me that you think it looks really funny.  So this week’s poll will help me to figure out where the majority of you stand. This week’s poll idea is based on a suggestion from Nadin about Vampire Diaries and Twilight, and having to choose.  And I thought, why do we need to choose?  We are allowed to love more than one vampire series/film/TV show, right?  But is there room in our Twi-lovin’ hearts for those other popular vampires out there? This week, we found out about Walmart’s version of the New Moon DVD that includes Eclipse footage. So I want to know which disc you guys are planning to buy.

I pre-ordered the Target DVD before the Walmart edition was announced, so I have now forced my bestie to buy it from Walmart so I have access to both.

Since I bugged and pestered you guys to vote for us, I guess it worked! We are very excited to say that we won TotalFilm.com‘s Movie Blog Award for Best SciFi/Fantasy Blog, beating out some VERY worthy components!  We will continue to provide the latest news, photos and videos.  In addition, we hope to add some new features to our site.  So keep your eyes peeled!

After more than 46,000 votes (!), here is the final tally of votes.  It was certainly a close race.

We know that there was lots of Twi-hate over at the awards voting page, and we appreciate everyone who went to bat for Team-Twilight, and, more importantly, the Twilight series itself (books and films).
