It was just announced that Kellan Lutz would be taking on a new adaptation of Tarzan for the big screen, but now we can also report he has joined the cast of Kid Cannibis, along with Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev. This will reunite the duo who played husband and wife in the film Arena. more information on Kid Cannibis from THR:

Brown is playing a depressed 18-year-old who assembles his friends to smuggle drugs across the Canadian border.

Lutz will play the teen’s older best friend, who loves the thrill in the beginning but soon finds himself over his head.

Dobrev, who has scheduling issues to work out before her deal can be finalized, would play a hot-to-trot 19-year-old who has a thing for the best friend and whose father is one of the biggest pot growers in the province.

Kellan Lutz will don a motion capture suit and act out scenes as Tarzan (similar to how the animation was done for Avatar) and then the actions will be translated to an animated film! Unfortunately, animation means no live action Kellan in a loin cloth. But that’s OK, we still have The Immortals for that!

Twilight Saga‘s Kellan Lutz will star as Tarzan in the Constantin film that will be directed by Reinhard Klooss (Animals United). The film is fully animated CGI with motion capture. He will act the role in a script by Jessica Postigo, Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs) and Kloos wrote the script. Spencer Locke is in talks to play Jane.

There will be a hunky vampire in the house too. Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen — aka Robert Pattinson’s brother — in the “Twilight” series, is sure to spark some hysteria of his own from the hundreds of spectators who make it an annual tradition to gather outside Barnstable Brown’s Spring Drive house to stargaze. He’s bringing his actress-girlfriend Sharni Vinson with him to the Bluegrass.

He recently talked with E! Online at the US Weekly Hot Hollywood party and had this to say about the Hunger Games :

Is there anyone who isn’t a fan of The Hunger Games?!

Just ask Twilight star Kellan Lutz. The hunky actor says he loves The Hunger Games so much, he’d jump at the chance to be in one of the franchise’s blockbuster films…

“I love the script, I love the movie, everything about it!” Lutz gushed to us last night at Us Weekly‘s Hot Hollywood bash at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood.

Lutz said he’s “always been” a fan of the franchise. “I got hooked reading all those books,” he said. “I remember before they ever started making a movie, I was like, “I would love to be a part of this!’”

Maybe Lutz could snag a part alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire? “That’d be really special,” he smiled.

As for the never-ending Twilight-Hunger Games comparisons, Lutz said, “I feel like Twilight‘s kind of more girly and on the romance side and lacks the action and then Hunger Games is very much an action-packed movie that lacks some of the romance.”

“But those stories, it shows that you don’t have to stick to one certain formula,” he said. “If you have these keys ingredients in the caldron it will make a great movie. It’s great that there’s fans for both of them.”

Two days before opening night, the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival has announced the 39 members of its jury, headed by this year’s Jury President Irwin Winkler. The jury is divided among the six competitive festival categories, and will name the winning films, filmmakers and actors at the closing ceremony, hosted by Emerging Competition juror Whoopi Goldberg on April 26.

The jurors for the 2012 World Narrative Competition are:

GQ.com: What was the hardest thing about staying in shape?
Kellan Lutz: There’s always food on set and every time you do a scene change you have downtime and you’re at craft service. I’ve never been on a strict diet but there’s always food around. We ate a lot of protein. All the guys had nutritionists who would bring us little salads with tuna or turkey every hour or two hours: just small portions so you always kept your metabolism burning. Between sets we’d run to the gym on and work out for half an hour. Most of our characters were topless throughout the movie so we didn’t have to worry about sweating and ruining the wardrobe.

You’ve modelled for Calvin Klein. What’s the hardest thing about modelling?
It’s a job; it’s tough. A lot of people think jack of modelling and turn their nose up at you but you’re selling a product. But I learned when I got into modelling, I would watch models and some would just stand there and do the exact same look. It’s like acting: you’ve got to give them different takes and different feelings in those takes. Because you’re selling something. So for me I learnt from watching my peers to be more fluid and give the camera something different every time so not all 50 shots are the exact same shot: to let my personality shine. That’s why I love acting because with modelling, you have to sell something by a still, by one little picture, whereas with acting you get to convey a lot of different emotions through dialogue and moments.

What TV do you never miss?
I watch whatever is on my roommate’s Tivo because I don’t really have time to watch TV. But I’m very much into shows like Breaking Bad and American Horror Story. But then of course I love my guilty pleasures likeThe People’s Court, Cheaters, 20 Most Shocking and America’s Funniest Home Videos… I love those shows where you can just tune out and relax.

Wetpaint Entertainment: What made you want to design a collection?
Kellan Lutz: Growing up in the modeling industry, I’ve always been closely connected to the fashion world. When I was living on the cross streets of Abbot Kinney & Main Street, where the name of the line comes from, I was surrounded by all types of people, cultures, and colors and I wanted to share that with others in the line. I guess you could say I wanted to bring my home in Venice Beach to life.

You model, act, and now you design. Which do you like to do the best?
Well I started as a model, moved into acting, and now I’ve returned back to the fashion world. I’m not sure I can pick a favorite, but I can say I love being creative and finding different avenues to explore it.

The world just got its first look at Kristen Stewart as a vampire. Was it weird filming with her once she made the transition? Did she act different?
Kristen makes an amazing vampire! She brought so much life to her human portrayal of Bella and even more when she transitioned into Bella the vampire. She seemed to enjoy being a vampire like all of us do. I really enjoyed shooting Emmett and Bella’s arm-wrestling scene!

You and Ashley Greene play lovers in your new movie Warriors. After playing her brother for so long, what was it like to play her love interest?
Acting is acting… It was a blessing to have Ashley play my love interest. It’s so nice to have someone to act with who you’re already close to. We’ve been friends for years, so it made it feel like a hangout session.

How does a guy from a small town in North Dakota get interested in fashion?
You just want to explore every avenue there is to be creative. You explore your imagination, because there’s not so much to do. I started out modeling at a young age and surrounded myself with different brilliant minds. I have so many people to get educated from, and I’ve been a sponge. That’s how the collection came about—it’s always been a goal of mine.

What did you learn about the fashion industry from modeling?
What I’ve learned from different designers is that it’s key to be true to who you are and your vision. That’s always been my line of thinking. Working through the whole design process, I don’t want to create something I wouldn’t be proud to wear. I’ve always been a fan of the people who endorse their own product, and you can tell when something is really that person. That’s the key concept.

What’s your personal style like?
I’m an easy going guy. I lived on a farm in Iowa. I like comfortable articles of clothing, fabrics that breath, something you can move around in. Things you can wear from daytime to night. I’m a jeans and t shirt kind of a guy. Great fits, comfy fabrics… and simplicity is key.

What’s the biggest fashion faux pas you’ve ever made?
You really learn from your mistakes. You learn when things just don’t work. You look at yourself and think, “What was I thinking that day?” My most recent moment is white board shorts. They can be quite, um, revealing.

What’s a Kellan Lutz groupie like?

Well, originally in the first few years they were quite hysterical and would scream and yell and call me me Emmett. Throughout the years though, you make friends with them. Now I have friends throughout the world who I see from time to time at different events, conventions and outings; every time I do a talk show in New York, a lot of them come out from wherever they are in the world. You know them by name and you have a chat with them and really build a relationship. I probably have more friends from Twilight than I’ve ever had in my whole life.

Do you get many strange gifts from fans?

I do. I even get gifts for my dogs. This group of Twi-moms that I know from Philadelphia, they send me and my roommates and even my dogs stockings with presents. The dogs’ stockings have all these chew toys and even letters that we’ll read to the dogs from them.

Do you get many marriage proposals?

Two or three a day. It’s sweet. I don’t think anyone’s really truly 100 per cent looking to propose but when they do send messages like that… they make you smile.

In an interview with OMG! Yahoo, Kellan Lutz spoke about the pressures that Rob, Kristen, and Taylor are under and how he feels fortunate to not have experienced that.

The American actor, who starred alongside R-Pattz in the vampire franchise, says he feels fortunate not to have the pressure that he, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart have.

He exclusively told omg!: “Rob, Kristen and Taylor are top tier and all eyes are on them. Now everyone’s looking to see what they’ll do afterwards.

“For the rest of us we kind of did all the press but had none of the pressure.”

Rob recently revealed he felt he’d be nothing without Twilight. But Kellan, who played the role of Emmett Cullen in Twilight, told us: “I don’t feel typecast at all. I feel very fortunate.”

Kellan, who started his career as a model, is currently spending lots of his time on his fashion range.

He told us: “I’m really focused on my clothing line. I was in New York for Fashion Week just hanging out with my peers in the fashion world and looking at them for inspiration.

“I love fashion, I started out modelling. My education is in the fashion world.”

And the 26-year-old made his movie mark away from Twilight in last year’s big movie Immortals.

The hunky blond has already graced the Joseph Abboud, General Idea and Tommy Hilfiger shows with his presence, and on Saturday morning, he came out to check out Lacoste’s new designs.

We got a chance to chat with the turtleneck-loving star backstage about his own sense of fashion and which of his Breaking Dawn costars he thinks has the best sense of style.

So which fashion-forward Twilight hunk gets Emmett Cullen’s seal of approval?

“Out of our cast, Jackson probably has the best male style,” Kellan said of the Singapore native, who plays Jasper Cullen in the films. “He rocks those cowboy boots like no other.”

But don’t worry, Team Edward and Team Jacob: Kellan thinks Taylor Lautner has “great style,” and Robert Pattinson? “He has his own thrown-together-but-looks-amazing style.”
