With Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace set to be re-released in theaters on February 10, 2012 in 3D, Lucasfilm launched “Darth Maul Me” – a feature that allows you to turn yourself into Darth Maul.

Considering we have a “No Sith Lord” rule at Screen Rant, we decided to see what would happen if 25 popular movies went to the dark side (and/or what would happen if Darth Maul got a hold of a time machine and wanted to trade in his dual lightsaber for a Hollywood career).

It’s that time of year when everyone seems to be making a top ten list, so why don’t we jump into the mix too. Let’s take a look at the Top Ten Twilight Saga Iconic Film Moments leading up to Breaking Dawn Part 1.

1. The original Twilight movie has possibly the most iconic image of the series. It’s the moment where both Bella and Edward are entranced with each other right after Edward saves Bella from Tyler’s out-of-control van. For many fans who didn’t know anything about Twilight until they saw the films, that was the moment that hooked them. They became captivated by Robert Pattinson and/or the Bella and Edward love story right there during those intense few seconds.

2. One of the most parodied parts of the entire series is the infamous moment in the meadow of “Say it out loud. Vampire.” If you ask people who aren’t fans of the series for a Twilight Saga moment that stands out in their minds, this one is easily it. Even though we don’t get the romantic meadow scene as presented in the book, the scene is memorable to fans nonetheless. It’s the big reveal to Bella that confirms what Edwards is, and consequently it’s what drives the action forward from that point on.

3. The final iconic moment in Twilight is the prom with Edward and Bella’s dance at the gazebo. It’s the first truly prolonged, tender moment they have in the films. Iron and Wine’s song Flightless Bird: American Mouth underscored the sequence and became an instant fan favorite. It was now unofficially Bella and Edward’s song, the one that defined who they were to each other. So far, it is the only song to make a comeback on any of the soundtracks. It currently serves as the song at their wedding in Breaking Dawn Part 1.

4. Moving on to New Moon, the image that hauntingly epitomizes much of the movie is Bella huddled alone in the forest abandoned by Edward. It sets the tone of depression and isolation that lasts almost the entire film. Even in some of her lighter moments with Jake, Bella still suffers from a broken heart. The image of her in a fetal position as leaves blow over her on the damp forest ground represents what she still feels inside.

5. Every fan is aware of the Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate. The moment when Team Jacob first took over the screen is the next iconic moment — and t happens when Bella crashes the motorcycle and Jacob runs over to her. Not only do we get the famous “You’re sort of beautiful” line from the novel, but we also get a look at the 8-pack that launched Taylor Launter’s heartthrob status.  Everyone knew Lautner bulked up for New Moon, but now it was obvious to what degree that was true.  Adult fans everywhere started counting down to Lautner’s eighteenth birthday because, as one put it, “It makes the drooling seem less inappropriate.”

Actress Ashleigh Harrington and Actor/Director Jeff Hammond are trekking into uncharted territory with their new web-series The Girls on Film. The show takes cool movie scenes between men and recreates them with women. Its an experimental and entertaining series that poses the question: What if our favourite male movie characters were female? The pair have just launched an episode of The Twilight Saga, to coincide with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1. This episode is fast on the heels of their parody of Drive (2011, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, starring Ryan Gosling.)

The very nature of the show has sparked a wildfire of commentary online and in the media. To date, the series has been featured in many publications both online and in print (including The Guardian*, Red Carpet Diary*, Thompson on Hollywood, Women and Hollywood, ABC Nightline News, BlogHer, Its Just Movies, Trekmovie.com, Den of Geek, Richard Crouse’s Pop Culture panel on Newstalk 1010, Star Trek producer Roberto Orci’s Twitter), and most recently was listed as one of the top websites in MTV.com editor Leslie Simon’s new book, Geek Girls Unite.

The LA Times is currently holding a poll about whether The Twilight Saga: Eclipse should have taken home more awards at the Teen Choice Awards this last Sunday. We can’t let the Twi-haters boss us around! Head over and VOTE!!

In past years, “Twilight Saga” films always swept the Teen Choice Awards and “Eclipse” was the fave to lead the way again Sunday night, but it got –- well –- eclipsed in some top races.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2″ pulled off a real magic trick by doing what the previous Potter pix couldn’t do –- that is, drive a stake into the award hopes of the trendy vampire flicks. According to the award pundits at Gold Derby, “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” was expected to win choice sci-fi/fantasy film; Robert Pattinson was supposed to win male hottie sci-fi fantasy actor and share the trophy for best lip lock with Kristen Stewart.

However, “Harry Potter” won the film prize; Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson won the smooch award; Justin Bieber was hailed as top hottie. Watson even beat Stewart for best sci-fi actress. “Twilight” did win the actor’s prize for sci-fi/fantasy fare, but it went to Pattinson’s studly rival Taylor Lautner.

Lesser “Twilight” stars Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene won the scene stealer categories, and Pattinson won a token consolation prize — choice vampire –- but otherwise there was little recognition for “Twilight” compared to previous years. Why? Is everybody just now caught up in hysteria over the release of the last “Harry Potter” film?

According to The Hollywood Reporter :

Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 cast a powerful spell at the midnight box office, grossing a massive $43.5 million, the best showing of all time.

The previous crown holder was The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which earned $30 million in midnight shows.

Deathly Hallows has now grossed $126 million worldwide, and the weekend is yet to come. The pic began rolling out internationally on Wednesday, earning $43.6 million from 26 countries. On Thursday, it grossed $37.6 million from 43 territories for a total $82.5 million.

As a Harry Potter fan I have to say I’m not surprised. This is truly the end of an era. It will be interesting though to see how   The Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn 2 will do in theatres in 2012.  I have a feeling it’s gonna be HUGE lol !

2.  Line buddies are essential for a good experience in line. Line buddies can be the people in your group or friends you make on either side of you in line.  Line etiquette:  Make sure to let everyone around you know how many friends are in your group and if it’s more than just a few, people may not be happy.  Best bet is to all go at the same time.  Security will get very strict about adding additional friends to the line.

Being comfortable in line is different to everyone.  Some people bring a chair and survive with a chair forever and others want luxury hotel like digs.  Whether you want to pack the whole car or fly in with just the necessities, we have some suggestions and plans for how to build your outdoor line living room.”

Well we have the answer for you, it’s makeup artist Leslie Graham!  BellaSugar got the opportunity to spend 5 minutes with Leslie, who talked about her inspiration for creating these looks.

BellaSugar: You created some of the looks for the vampires in New Moon and Eclipse — who did you look after and what were the key products you used to create their looks?

Leslie Graham: For New Moon I was brought in to be a personal makeup artist for actor Jamie Campbell Bower, who played the role of Caius (one of the leaders of the Voluturi). For Eclipse I did the makeup for all of the Wolfpack [Alex Meraz, Julia Jones and Chaske Spencer], Jodelle Ferland and some of the newborn vampires. On set I would take care of Dakota and the other Volturi. We did a lot of air-brushing using MAC Micronized Airbrushed Formula to give the “onion” skin tone. It has a little silicone in it, which works to keep the makeup in place as we were often working in the woods and in the rain — vampires in the rain can be quite difficult!

Bella: One of the key looks in the Twilight films is the perfect pale skin — how can we recreate this look without appearing washed out?

LG: I would say go with a colour two to three shades lighter than your own skin tone and apply it with a wide and flat synthetic foundation brush. Make sure you go right down your neck and over your ears and don’t make it too white or too grey — it shouldn’t be “death” makeup, it should be just enough to lighten your own skin tone. Try Revlon Colorstay in a buff, nude or ivory tone, again depending on your skin.

Spoiler alert: Edward and Bella kiss in this movie. Get out! We know! Seriously, any smooch between our favorite interspecies twosome is exciting, and not just because Edward could go from kissing her face to biting it off at any moment. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are professionals, so the fact that they are dating in real life isn’t what makes this macking-in-a-meadow scene so hot. But it doesn’t hurt.

Goodness, Bella certainly does get around in “Eclipse.” And can you blame her? Team Jacob gets a win when, on the verge of battle, Bella and Jacob finally share the long, lingering kiss that proves Jacob was right all along — these two have chemistry to burn. Unfortunately, it isn’t enough: Despite their mountaintop moment, Bella chooses to spend eternity with her vampire BF, not her werewolf BFF. Poor Jacob. But if you get to have only one real kiss with the woman you love, what a way to go.

Twilight fans may be surprised to know that Stephanie Meyer at one point outlined an alternate ending for Eclipse, the third book in the series. At the time, Meyer explains that publishers worried the series would go stale if there were too many books so the plan was to cut it off at three.

While Meyer already had ideas about her characters’ stories well beyond a third book, she consented to work out an ending for Eclipse that would have brought the series to a close. In August of 2010, Stephenie gave an interview currently available on twilightseriestheories.com where she talked about the thought process that went into that alternate ending, but ultimately declined to give its major details.

“See if I tell them, I can’t write. And so that becomes…’cause then you’ve destroyed it. But um, there was a certain point in time not as much faith in the series and I was told to end it at three. And I’d never planned to do…you know I was…There were three books right? There were supposed to be three books and there was no idea of it going on, and in my head it was this long series. And so it was like: ‘No, we should end this.’ Because you know if you go on too long sometimes series lose their steam or whatever. And the story was just so wide open then. There was so much that wasn’t done and so to have ended it there, it would have had to be a radical ending. Um, radically different. There [were] some fantasy elements that I don’t think people would’ve seen coming. I don’t think they would have responded well. My mom hates it! Hates the ending. My sister was cool with it. And you know I could see that because there were things…Some people, the way they’re tied to the characters are dependent on certain aspects of those characters, and now I’m gonna sound really really bad but it messed with that for some people. But then once I started thinking about it I was really intrigued by that conversation. There was this really dramatic scene and Bella doesn’t know what’s going on and the visuals in it were really strong for me. And so then I wanted to write it. You know back when nobody cared about the books and I could do whatever I wanted, I was like Bree it was gonna be on the website. That was the plan all along. I would write up this alternate ending, but will people throw rocks at me if I write this? There’s a possibility! Oh and then people will think: ‘Oh this is the real ending and that’s the fake ending.’ When it’s not you know…this is just an alternate. This is the way it could’ve gone. But it didn’t and I like it better how it is.”

Guys, it takes a lot more than soulful gazes, heartfelt declarations of love and awesome hair to play Edward Cullen, aka The Hottest, Most Sensitive Vampire Ever. Just you try tearing a man’s jugular out one second and then proposing to your sweetheart the next. But seriously… There’s a reason R.Pattz has captured the hearts of many a teenage (and grown-up) girl, and it’s that he’s sympathetic and believable as the immortal who, against all reason, is passionately in love with a mere human. How can Bella resist? How can we?

Taylor Lautner, ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’

If there were an MTV Movie Awards category for Best Abs, Mr. Lautner would win that thing hands-down. Alas, there is not… but he’s still got a chance for the burgeoning Team Jacob to vote him into the top spot here. In “Eclipse,” Jacob has some fairly reasonable arguments in favor of Bella’s picking him, including “We’re both human, kinda,” and “I can keep you warm at night with my — oops! — shirtless body.” And in all fairness to Lautner, there’s far more to his portrayal of Jacob than mere shirtlessness. Anyone who’s ever suffered from unrequited love (or in this case, semi-requited love) can relate.

Catherine Hardwicke may not have directed the previous two Twilight films (or the final upcoming ones, either), but I think it is still her baby. And she couldn’t be more proud at all the nominations it’s gotten for this year’s MTV Movie Awards!

“Well, I think it’s great. I love it that people are so passionate about it and that people are really into it and following the characters,” she told MTV News when we chatted with her about the June 14 DVD release of “Red Riding Hood,” which she also directed. “I think it’s a great tribute, obviously, to what [author] Stephenie Meyer created. … Rob and Kristen and everybody’s been able to just keep it going and keep people loving it all this time, and, of course, all the directors, everybody. I think it’s awesome. It’s great.”

Hardwicke also weighs in on the Best Kiss debate: Bella and Edward? or Bella and Jacob?

Stewart is nominated in the Best Kiss category for locking lips with both Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson. So which kiss does the director think she should win for? “Maybe it can be a tie? That would be perfect! I think [that's] the safest solution to this problem,” she laughed.
