Interview with B 98.5 Morning Show:

AJC: Are you sort of sad that this is the next-to-last “Twilight” movie?

Greene: Maybe we’re in denial. We’re still going to see each other. It’s not over yet!

Reed: We stepped into this knowing how many books there were. We knew what we were getting into.

Greene: It’s nice to finish out the franchise.

AJC: Talk about the dynamics on the set as the series became so incredibly popular.

Rathbone: It’s been an incredible learning experience. I’ve been able to learn from an amazing cast. I’ve heard stories where the love of the books has brought a mother and daughter closer.

Reed: It did change. The first movie was so much more innocent. When you’re making a movie you’re just hoping one person will watch it. There is a hierarchy on set. It would be weird to say we all have the same size trailers. We all still look at each other as equals though. As wonderful as Rob, Kristen and Taylor are – and this is their movie – everyone on this entire franchise has to work hard. What’s important is to focus on doing good work.

Bewley: This has really changed Kristen’s career. Rob is so upright and well-spoken. He knows when he walks in a room he commands attention, and everybody wants something from him.

Greene: We are like family. It’s not something most people have experienced. For me, it was one of my first gigs. We all kind of grew up a little bit. We’re all extremely thankful to have been involved in this. We’re all going to miss each other.

Rathbone: It’s important to realize we are artists. What we do is more recognized because of what we do. People are artists in their own right. We’re no different than anyone else.

ThisIsLondon gives us some extra scoop on Charlie Bewley’s theater-venture with his sis Lydai.

The brother and sister stars of hit films The Twilight Saga and The Inbetweeners are to play siblings on stage in a revival of a British wartime drama.

Charlie Bewley, 30, who played vampire Demetri in the Twilight films New Moon and Eclipse, will make his professional stage debut in The River Line next month. Hollywood-based Charlie said it was a great chance to work in London – and with his sister. Lydia Rose Bewley, 26, spent most of her career on stage before The Inbetweeners, playing Jay’s love interest Jane.

He said: “There’s a tight bond between the two characters and I think that working with her will only enrich that part of the play.”

Drama school graduate Lydia, of Herne Hill, said it was a “privilege” to work with her brother, who only started acting in his mid-twenties. The play tells of Allied pilots hiding in occupied France. Adapted by Charles Morgan from his novel for the 1952Edinburgh Festival, it runs at the Jermyn Street Theatre from October 4 until 29.

Like Crazy starring Charlie Bewley, Jennifer Lawrence, Felicity Jones, and Anton Yelchin, will open the Film Independent Forum on October 21st.

A screening of Paramount Vantage’s Like Crazy will open the three-day Film Independent Forum on Oct. 21 at the Directors Guild. The event is put on by Film Independent, the nonprofit organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival. The screening of the film, directed by Drake Doremus, will be followed by a Q&A and reception with writer Ben York Jones, producers Jonathan Schwartz and Andrea Sperling, editor Jonathan Alberts and cinematographer John Guleserian. The forum will feature independent filmmakers speaking on production, distribution, documentaries and new media. Among the featured panelists are director Azazel Jacobs (Terri), producer Laura Bickford (Duplicity, Che), ICM’s Peter Trinh and Emily Verellen of The Fledgling Fund.

Steven Grayhm, Matt Dallas and Charlie Bewley were in Detroit this week as part of a cross-country journey to research their film project about soldiers who’ve served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The three actors are developing a feature film called “Thunder Road” about vets grappling with difficulties after their time overseas.

They’re also filming footage during their travels for a future DVD of the movie.

Grayhm, who played young Eddie in the Mitch Albom TV movie “The Five People You Meet in Heaven,” wrote the script for “Thunder Road.” He says the basic idea hit him in 2003, when he was glued to the coverage of the start of the Iraq war.

The three friends, who plan to produce the feature, are all busy with their acting careers, but they decided this year to research the movie, with British actor Bewley, who plays Demetri in several “Twilight” films, taking occasional breaks to return to London.

“The three of us forged ahead and decided we would take this on very seriously, we would take the time to go meet the soldiers face-to-face,” says Grayhm.

The experience has prompted Grayhm to change the script quite a bit, a process that’s deepening the story’s psychological aspects.

Dallas, who played Kyle on the TV series “Kyle XY,” says one of his biggest fears was that they’d have trouble finding veterans who would open up to them.

“But as we’ve met people, we’ve found they want to get their stories out. We’ve heard this from so many veterans who’ve come back. They get the attitude of ‘You chose to go over there.’ I think they just want people to know what they’ve been through,” he says.

The trip, which launched in mid-July, has included stops in Los Angeles, Arizona, Texas, New England, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Michigan. Their next stop is Minnesota. They plan to return to L.A. by Sept. 15.

During their time in Detroit, they met with veterans and were scheduled to visit a Veterans Administration office.

Charlie Bewley and his sister Lydia will be starring together in the play “The River Line” at the Jermyn Street Theat in London, starting in October. This will be Charlie’s first appearance on stage! We recently spoke with Charlie (we couldn’t release our interview until this news came out), and he let us know that the character he’ll be playing will be very similar to himself, and that he’s excited to “study myself” for the role. Lydia Bewley has just made her big screen debut in The Inbetweeners, which took the top spot at the UK box office on its opening weekend.

Information for The River Line at Jermyn Street Theatre, Inner London (Play). Based on Morgan’s 1947 novel which was in turn based on his own wartime experiences. Originally adapted for stage in the 1950′s when it starred Paul Scofield and Virginia McKenna. The River Line has as its central theme the idea of responsibility, particularly the responsibility for action forced upon peace-loving men who find themselves living in an age of violence during the War. The name ‘the River Line’ was given to one of those networks of communication which enabled Allied airman to get home through Belgium, France and the Pyrenees. The organisers always feared that they might be receiving ‘a false Englishman’ – that is, a secret agent introduced by the enemy into the Line in order to betray it. The story is rooted in this fear. Of the group of officers, American and English, concealed in Marie Chassaigne’s granary, one was killed with terrible suddenness. Who was he? Where did the responsibility lie? A young American, having played his part in the adventure, comes to England in 1947 to visit his surviving friends who shared it. As a double story of 1943 and 1947 unfolds, his discovery of the whole truth affects his relationships with two women and his understanding of himself. It seems that that the present is bound to the past in that kind of tragic entanglement which everywhere afflicts the modern conscience. The solution lies in pardon and release.

It was a fun weekend spending time with the fans and fellow fansite owners. We also had the opportunity to interview a few of the cast members. The ladies of The Hillywood Show, Hilly & Hannah, MCed the weekend. Here they are in their Alice and Kristen costumes.

Tinsel Korey looked beautiful in her solo Q&A panel on Saturday.  She gets pretty silly during her panels.

A few bits from Tinsel’s panel:

*Tinsel loves all types of music. Right now she is enjoying Rihanna and Adele’s “Someone Like You.”
*She refuses to choose Team Edward or Team Jacob. She does say that if she had two hot guys fighting over her, she’d pick both.
*Tinsel doesn’t get recognized much in public because the scar on her face when she plays Emily gives her some public anonymity.

The site owners of various wolf pack fan sites took the stage for a panel. The panelists got some great questions from the audience and then a few members of the audience took part in a howling contest. The winner won a photo op with Kiowa, Tinsel and BooBoo. The sites involved were: LovinChaske.com, KiowaGordon.net, TeamTaylorLautner.com, and JuliaJonesFans.First-Beach.net.

During Charlie Bewley’s first Q&A of the weekend, he showed off his duds from TJ Maxx. It turns out he’d forgotten to bring any luggage with him and had no clothes. He’d gone to stock up at TJ Maxx and Walgreens!

A few bits from Charlie’s panel:

*Charlie said Rob’s name over and over to rile up the crowd. Then he resorted to what he said was his nickname for Rob: P****-whipped Pattinson
*Charlie’s weirdest fan interaction was when he found out a fan had tattooed his face on her thigh.
*Charlie confirmed that his dramatic entrance in the end of Eclipse was him just being a showoff. He’d have mooned the Cullens if he could’ve.

At the Volturi Ball, the fans were dressed to the nines! The party started at 11 and went on for quite a bit. The celeb guests (BooBoo, Tinsel, Kiowa and Charlie) seemed relaxed and enjoyed the time of dancing, chatting with fans, and generally having fun. The ladies from The Hillywood Show were hosting the event. There was a contest for the best dressed (winner pictured below) and a centerpiece contest (Angie’s favorite is pictured below, too).

On Sunday, the day got going with a panel from Tinsel Korey, Kiowa Gordon and BooBoo Stewart.

A few tidbits from the Kiowa/Tinsel/BooBoo panel:

*Booboo’s favorite rock band is Boston. Tinsel says My Chemical Romance. Kiowa chooses the Beatles.
*Booboo says he’d like to be a wizard vampire. Tinsel pointed out that he just needs to be Cedric Diggory.
*Tinsel’s favorite food: Steak & mashed potatoes. BooBoo likes Chinese food. And Chicken and Waffles. Kiowa loves Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles.
*Tinsel says her favorite Twilight soundtrack is the original because of Robert Pattinson singing on it.
*Kiowa says before he started acting he worked at AMC Theaters. Tinsel did landscaping.
*Tinsel spilled the beans that Charlie Bewley auditioned for Captain America.

The ladies of the Twilight Lexicon hit the stage a few times during the weekend to talk about their experiences. These ladies have experienced a LOT of amazing stuff!

Charlie Bewley had a second panel on Sunday. This time, he brought two of his buddies along and there were a few hijinks that followed as a result.

A few tidbits from Charlie’s second panel:

*Charlie confirmed that he did indeed audition for Captain America, but didn’t expect to get it. He says “everyone” auditioned for that role.
*If Charlie Bewley could be anyone besides himself, who’d he be? He picks Jesus.
*Before acting, Charlie was a taxi driver, a henna tattoo artist, pole dancing poll salesman, a bartender, a waiter.
*Charlie tells about pranks on set where everyone was sticking Team Edward/Team Jacob signs on other actor’s backs. He says he stuck Team Edward on Rami Malek’s back and went to take a picture. Unknowingly at the time, someone was also sticking a Team Jacob sign on his own back at the same time.
*He wanted to know what fans would actually do if they got their hands on him? He took a poll asking how many of the audience would rip off their clothes, jump on him, and lick.

Peter Facinelli wrapped up the weekend onstage on Sunday afternoon. The hall was packed, as usual for when Peter does his Q&As. This ended up being a very special one, as he went well over his allotted time, and spent time out in the audience.

A few tidbits from Peter’s panel:

*Peter talked about Carlisle Cullen’s hair evolution from Twilight to Breaking Dawn.
*If Peter had to be stuck on an island with another cast mate, he would not pick Taylor because Taylor would just walk around all day with his shirt off. Instead, he’d pick Kellan to crack coconuts!
*Peter has a smurf collection. Says his assistant recently put all his smurfs in wierd places! Peter has a “bucket” of smurfs.
*Peter would like to work with Sean Penn, Denzel Washington, Robert Deniro, Scarlett Johanson and Jennie Garth!

At the very end of the day on Sunday, during Peter’s time on stage, Charlie Bewley jumped on stage and invited the fans out to pose with his Toyota Prius that he and the other guys are driving around for their research for their upcoming film. Sunday 28 August 2011 Charlie Bewley asked the fans of the Cincinnati TwiTour to join him and Steven Grayhm outside to take a picture with their Toyota of Santa Monica Prius. The guys have been taking pictures across the country documenting their trip and according to Charlie there was not a more ridiculous situation to put the Prius in than having the whole fandom in the picture with the car. We agree

Charlie Bewley looks so great in this film! I can’t wait to see it!!

Arriving barely a week after the teaser trailer, a full length spot has arrived for Sundance hit “Like Crazy.” The long-distance romantic drama stars Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence and it struck a nerve with audiences at Park City earlier this year taking home the Grand Jury Prize for director Drake Doremus and Special Jury Prize for Felicity Jones. This writer saw the film back in January and thought it was easily one of the best of the fest. The film was mostly improvised and manages to capture that suffocating feeling of being in a long distance relationship delivering a few moments that are truly crushing.

“Like Crazy” will hit theaters October 28th.

Hollywood Reporter has a new spotlight on Charlie Bewley’s road trip to do research on soldiers who have returned home from Afghanistan.

For their first feature film, “Thunder Road,” the two actors along with director-writer Steven Grayhm are traveling cross-country and meeting with soldiers who recently returned from Afghanistan.

Kyle XY star Matt Dallas, actor-writer-director Steven Grayhm and Twilight’s Charlie Bewley are spending six weeks of their summer road tripping across the country. The purpose: research for their first feature film Thunder Road, which explores the difficulties many U.S. soldiers face upon their return to civilian life from active duty in Afghanistan.

Says Bewley of the experience so far: “It is difficult to sustain emotional detachment, from the exhilaration of deployment to the tragedy of loss and the eventual homecoming. You walk into a room with preconceived notions of what war is like and it’s just different when you’re sitting there hearing it first hand.”

[Elizabeth Reaser] Young Adult. Director Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking, Juno, Up in the Air) takes another shot at analysing first world problems with a drama about a recently divorced author (Charlize Theron) who returns to her home town in an attempt to woo a married ex-boyfriend. Theron and writer Diablo Cody (pictured above with Reitman and Juno star Ellen Page) already have an Oscar apiece for Monster and Juno respectively. Reitman, with two directing nominations but no award, must be itching to join them

[Kristen Stewart] Another vaguely delayed project is Walter Salles’s take on the Jack Kerouac classic. Should On the Road make it into cinemas before the voting deadlines end, there could be the jangle of gongs for Salles, or cast members Kirsten Dunst, Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley

[Bryce Dallas Howard] The Help. A 1960s period piece on race relations in small-town Mississippi. Director Tate Taylor’s folksy morality tale could play well with the voters who nominated The Color Purple for 11 Oscars back in 1985. Based on a best-selling book by Kathryn Stockett, The Help follows three women – two black maids working in white households and a white college graduate – as they attempt to challenge conventional attitudes to race and place in southern society. Viola Davis, previously nominated for her performance in Doubt (2008), is the one to watch here. But Emma Stone and the ubiquitous Jessica Chastain also feature

[Charlie Bewley] Like Crazy. LA boy Anton Yelchin and London-based girl Felicity Jones weather the dips and highs of a long distance relationship in this low budget romantic drama. [Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard] Half oafish comedy, half cancer diary – it’s hard to set the odds on this one. From Brick to Inception, 50/50 lead Joseph Gordon-Levitt has proved himself a friend of Hollywood’s art crowd and the money men both. He’s a good bet for a best actor nomination eventually, but whether this is the film to provide it is debatable. Oscar likes its illnesses serious (Philadelphia, Rain Man, A Beautiful Mind), not stoner (Seth Rogen is on board as Gordon-Levitt’s best mate). Still, at least they renamed the thing – it’s tough to imagine anyone announcing: ‘And the Oscar goes to … I’m With Cancer‘

As research and development for his upcoming project entitled Into the Heart of America: A Soldier’s Story, Charlie Bewley, along with some other familiar and unfamiliar faces, will be heading off in a cross-country road trip to interview and learn about U.S. war veterans.  Charlie is a co-founder of Astoria Entertainment, the company behind A Soldier’s Story. Here is more information from their Facebook page (head over and give them a “like”).

Throughout the months of July and August 2011, we will be embarking upon a research and development road trip across the United States for approximately 5-6 weeks. During this time we will be meeting with soldiers (and their families) who have returned home to the US from active duty abroad.

Our research will encompass the entire scope of a soldier’s life from before enlistment, through basic training to active duty abroad, and then returning home. Our prime focus is on the physical and emotional hardship suffered and how well the needs of these returning servicemen are met by the institutions who support them. We’d like to add that this is not a political project by any means. We believe that putting politics into the equation distracts from the more important concern, that of the soldiers themselves.

Additionally, and in keeping with ASTORIA’s ongoing integrated philanthropic efforts*, we will be working with several charities and relief foundations during our travels, including but not limited to: tornado relief in Joplin, MO, and community outreach programs in Louisiana, rebuilding homes in the post-Katrina aftermath. We are also volunteering for and presenting awards to the veterans at the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in Pittsburg, Penn.

Joining us on our team for the journey will be Elizabeth Cook- Disabled US ARMY Veteran and Associate Producer for Astoria Entertainment, Jupiter Baudot- Researcher/Documentarian, Matt Dallas- Actor, Steven Grayhm- Actor and Co-founder of Astoria, Charlie Bewley-Actor and Co-Founder of Astoria.
