Don’t count on ‘Breaking Dawn’ in 3D
I’m not sure where this 3D rumor started. I have thought all along it doesn’t make sense. Then, apparently a fake press release went out today announcing that Breaking Dawn would be in 3D. Gossip Cop confirms it isn’t true:
Earlier today a press release went out claiming, among other things, that The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn “will be split into two movies, and filmed in 3D.”
But that “press release is inauthentic,” a rep for Summit Entertainment confirms exclusively to Gossip Cop.
The rep, who further called the release “fabricated,” added that no official decision has been made about the division of Breaking Dawn, but that Summit is working with author Stephenie Meyer to bring her vision to the big screen with all the “creative elements” necessary.
Meanwhile, a well-placed source tells Gossip Cop that, while splitting Breaking Dawn is likely, filming it in 3D is a longshot.
IESB: Peter Facinelli on Eclipse and Breaking Dawn
In this first part of an interview with IESB, Peter Facinelli talks about Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Nurse Jackie and his aspirations for the future. Here is what he had to say about Breaking Dawn:
IESB: So are you getting ready for this big epic finale Breaking Dawn, they are saying it’s a two parter, possibly 3D, are they telling you to expect double the time for production?
PF: I haven’t really thought about it much. We just came off of New Moon and I’m still in the gear of finishing up Eclipse, I’m getting ready to go out and promote Eclipse, that’s my favorite book so I am excited to see that one hit the screens. But, I haven’t really put much thought into Breaking Dawn, I think it will be bittersweet but I will be excited to be able to finish up this series and then move on from there. [Read more →]
Chris Weitz will not direct ‘Breaking Dawn’
Gossip Cop has confirmed that Chris Weitz is out of the running for director of Breaking Dawn. Here’s the scoop.
- “I have absolutely no idea whether “March” will translate to “early March” or “the end of March.” The decision could be announced today, for all I know. Or maybe they will make us all wait until March 31. The Ides… well, maybe not. I don’t know if I can wait another fifteen days, and anyway that date has ominous connotations. “Beware the Ides of March,” and all that. So please let us know before that, HBO.” Martin said on his “not blog” Monday morning. By Tuesday afternoon he was at a presumed loss for words, and simply posted a classic Peanuts video.
- HBO has requested a total of ten episodes, including the existing pilot. Filming is said to resume this June, locations include Northern Ireland and Morocco.
- Although the number of actual seasons is dependant on ratings, it’s said each season will cover the storyline of at least one book.
- The cast includes Mark Addy ( A Knight’s Tale, Still Standing, The Full Monty), Sean Bean (Troy, Percy Jackson & The Olympians) Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Elf), Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd, Rocknrolla), Jennifer Ehle (Wilde, Pride and Prejudice), Lena Headey (300) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven) among others.
Chris Weitz on ‘New Moon’ regrets and ‘Breaking Dawn’
BuzzSugar has a new interview with Chris Weitz in which he discusses his New Moon regrets (the running Bella-is-a-vamp vision), as well as his thoughts on Breaking Dawn.
When you go back and watch it again, are there things you’d like to change if you could? I would like to never have shot Rob and Kristen running through the forest and Kristen’s just turned into a vampire. Because everybody always laughs and it makes me feel terrible. [Laughs] I would have shot it a different way so it wouldn’t get that response. But otherwise, I’m very happy with things.
What was your favorite scene to shoot in New Moon? I’m very fond of the memories that a lot of the scenes invoke in me. My favorite scene is probably somewhere between the very last scene, and the cliffhanger that it’s left on, and the scenes in Italy. Just the experience shooting those scenes was so magnificent. We were in this beautiful hillside town in Tuscany, and going home to fresh-made pasta every night, and surrounded by thousands of fans of the series while we were shooting it. I know I’ll never experience anything like that ever again.

Kellan Lutz not interested in a 3D ‘Breaking Dawn’
Kellan is not interested in seeing Breaking Dawn in 3D, and I tend to agree. I don’t think Breaking Dawn warrants 3D. How about you guys?
Kristen Stewart gave it a maybe. Robert Pattinson thinks it might give him a headache. So what does Kellan Lutz think about the idea of releasing “Breaking Dawn” in 3-D, when (or if) it’s made? Well, he’s not too keen on the idea.
“I heard they were talking about it. I don’t really care to see it in 3-D,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at Cosmopolitan magazine’s 2010 Fun Fearless Males party on Monday night in New York City.
Like Pattinson, Lutz isn’t a big fan of movies filmed in multiple dimensions. “3-D kind of hurts my eyes anyways. ‘Avatar’ was amazing in 3-D and in IMAX, but I don’t think I wanna see a little baby half-vampire in 3-D,” he said, echoing a similar sentiment made by Stewart. “There’s just some scenes I just wouldn’t want to see in 3-D.”
And with no formal announcement that more movies will be shot from the “Twilight Saga,” Lutz is in favor of breaking the book up into two flicks with “New Moon” helmer Chris Weitz back in the director’s chair, if the film should get the green light. “I’d love to see Chris Weitz come back,” he said late last year. “I just had so much fun shooting with him. I mean, obviously I would just love to do ['Breaking Dawn']. There’s no word. … Hopefully we get that phone call, and if they want to make it into five movies, I just don’t want it to end. I love my character so much.”

Rob Pattinson interview from ‘Remember Me’ press junket
In a new interview from the Remember Me press junket, Rob talks about Remember Me, Bel Ami, Breaking Dawn, and what makes him happy (awww…). Here are some snippets.
Both characters seem to really be embracing life, and I think audiences will really come away with that. What do you think is the overall feeling around love. What will people learn from watching this film?
Pattinson: I think one of the things, which I always liked about it, is that he doesn’t. Like when you meet someone who you feel whatever for, it doesn’t necessarily mean that that’s a finish line, and that’s like “oh you’ll be alright now afterwards.” I think that worked in the relationship with Allie and Tyler. I think it’s to show that its sort of ok to have, if you just have one moment of happiness, where you can feel that you’re happy, even if it just lasts for a minute. It’s worth a lot. Because I think people now, everyone does all of these things because they think they should be happy like all the time. Doing therapy, and taking anti-depressants and all of these things. If you’re happy all of the time, it’s difficult to acknowledge when you actually are happy.
On Bel Ami:
Do you see yourself trying to sort of make a big gap between Twilight and everything else you do so people realize there this…something so different from the phenomenon that everybody focus on? More to you…
Pattinson: No, I don’t really focus on trying to do it, I don’t think. I pick scripts the same way, I think, that I’ve always done. I barely like anything, and so it’s kind of easy to pick your jobs. The things which I’m signed onto now are all completely different. Like I’m playing a white Comanche in one thing and the parts completely in Comanche. Bel Ami is, I thought there was a kind of irony in Bel Ami as well, because a lot of the women are attracted to this character and then he kind of screws them over and steals their money and stuff. (laughs) Which I thought was quite funny compared to the Twilight character. (laughing) It’s kind of the polar opposite. It wasn’t intentional, I just thought Bel Ami was very funny, and it’s a very interesting character. With Remember Me, I’d never done a simple story before, and it’s not that simple, but its playing a normal guy and trying to relate to things on a normal level it’s kind of relief in a lot of ways.
On Breaking Dawn:
What are your thoughts on the Breaking Dawn being two films?
Pattinson: I really don’t mind either way.
Be sure to head over the Examiner to read the whole thing.
E! Online: What does RPattz think of two Breaking Dawn films?
E! Online talked with Robert Pattinson today at the press junket for Remember Me, and got his feeling about splitting Breaking Dawn in two.
Do you really want to see more Robert Pattinson? Are you sure?!
We kid, but something tells us the prospect of more Pattz may be a big part of your mass desire for Breaking Dawn to be a two-parter. While the fourth and final installment of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series has plenty going on—weddings, babies and, of course, a final showdown or two—the official decision to break it down into a pair of movies has yet to be made.
Kristen Stewart told us earlier this month that she’s with you! She thinks the book “absolutely warrants” a double-feature and ”it would be hard to cram all of it into one movie.”
But what does the world’s hottest sparkle vamp think?
Unlike other things, Pattz isn’t allergic to the idea. In his true, laid-back fashion, he’s just going with the flow.
“I don’t mind either way,” he admits to E! News during the Remember Me press junket in New York City on Saturday.
Two movies would mean extended action sequences (yeah, that kind of action) with K.Stew, so we have to imagine he really wouldn’t mind.
