Director Dylan Kidd (Roger Dodger) is attached to direct Get a Job for CBS Films, and he’s setting up a very nice cast.  Miles Teller is in negotiations to star.  Offers are out to Anna Kendrick andBryan Cranston.  Christopher Mintz-Plasse and SNL‘s Jay Pharaoh are also in talks; Kidd’sRodger Dodger star Jesse Eisenberg is looking to take on a cameo in the comedy.  According toVariety, the script by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel follows “a college graduate and his friends who have to lower their expectations about life as they enter the real world during a recession.” Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher (Extraordinary Measure) are producing.

Anna Kendrick tells Contact Music that Twilight was such a small production, and they had so little expectation of its success, that the cast had to organize their own wrap party!

She said: “People say, ‘But you must have known it was a big deal,’ but no, we didn’t.

“We even threw our own wrap party after the first movie. Emails were exchanged between us saying, ‘Hey, do you want to hang out? Do you think we should have a little wrap party thing?’

“It was not like being on a big movie; the success of the first film was an accident. I don’t really think something like that would happen by accident again.”

Kristen Stewart:

2012 is shaping up to be KStew’s biggest year yet. In addition to saying goodbye to the character that made her a superstar, she is starring in the summer fantasy blockbuster “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Also featuring Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, the story is a darker twist on the classic fairy tale in which Snow White seems more like Joan of Arc than a fair maiden. Let’s just hope it’s better than last year’s “Red Riding Hood.” It couldn’t be worse.

On the other side of the movie spectrum, Stewart is also appearing in the relatively shoestring budgeted “On the Road.” I know I wrote about this film in last year’s preview, but it actually seems like it’s coming this year. Principal photography wrapped in 2010, so they’ve been in post over a year. Here’s hoping the Jack Kerouac classic will finally see the silver screen in 2012.

Robert Pattinson:

R.Pattz showed up at 2011′s Comic-Con with f—ed up hair and caused hundreds of Twi-hard teens to experience minor heart palpitations. “Has our only reason for living gone crazy?” they wondered. Their worries eased when they found out it’s only a haircut for his character in this year’s “Cosmopolis,” a film based on prolific writer Don DeLillo’s 13th novel. It’s being directed by dark genius David Cronenberg (“A History of Violence,” “Eastern Promises”), so Pattinson may finally have a shot at winning critics over with his serious side.

In March, we’ll finally get to see the long-promised movie “Bel Ami.” From the trailer, it seems like a Victorian period piece oin which Pattinson gets to make love to Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas. I can’t wait.

Taylor Lautner:

After the bomb known as “Abduction” dropped and sent Lautner’s camp scurrying for the bunkers, he and his team seem to be keeping things on the DL this year. Other than “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” Lautner doesn’t have any movies coming out in 2012. However, looking further on the horizon, he is planning a comeback in 2013 with the fantasy film “Incarceron,” alongside actress Kavinda Dissanayake. Lautner is also rumored to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the action film “Goliath” next year. Do you think he’ll play The Rock’s son?

Peter Facinelli:

The veteran actor and Cullen father is making his big screenwriting debut with “Loosies,” opening this week. Facinelli also stars in the independent movie about a New York pickpocket who has a run of bad luck, including a former one-night stand (Jamie Alexander) telling him she’s pregnant  and a cop (Michael Madsen) having a vendetta against him. Look for Facinelli also to revive my all-time favorite character of his, Dr. Cooper, in season 4 of Showtime’s dark sitcom “Nurse Jackie” this year.

Jackson Rathbone:

Like his character Jasper Hale, Rathbone’s projects outside of “Twilight” are an enigma. “Zombie Hamlet” and “DaZ: Vol. Too – NonSeNse” are supposed to be released this year, but they were also supposed to be released last year. The indie “Live at the Foxes Den” looks promising, but there isn’t much information available. Finally, “Cowgirls n’ Angels,” in which Jackson plays a rodeo rider (but not a cowgirl), looks closest to completion.

The 27th Film Independent’s Spirit Award nominees were announced today, and Summit Entertainment’s 50/50, starring Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard, received a nomination for Best Feature Film, as well as Best First Screenplay and Best Supporting Female (Anjelica Huston).

Also notable, there were a couple of nominations, including Best Cinematography, for Midnight in Paris, which stars Michael Sheen.

Anna Kendrick recalls filming a chilly wedding scene for Breaking Dawn – Part 1. They had to wear summer dresses in 40 degree weather!

(Cover) – EN Movies – Anna Kendrick thinks a chunk of the new Twilight movie budget will go on removing breath clouds from the wedding scene because it was so cold.

The actress is Jessica Stanley in the popular vampire franchise which also stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
The penultimate movie, Breaking Dawn – Part 1, is due out next month and sees Edward Cullen marry Bella Swan.
The marriage is eagerly anticipated and Anna hopes the stars did it justice. She explained it was shot in bitter weather conditions, meaning their frozen breath kept appearing on the film “Oh yeah I would say maybe 40 degree and we’re sort of in little dresses pretending that it’s summer. I think lots of digital breath replacement will be a big part of the budget. Tons,” she laughed. “We’re out in the forest that’s miles away from anything trying to shoot in secrecy to try and prevent any photographs leaking.”

Anna Kendrick has reportedly joined the cast of the Robert Redford’s upcoming film The Company You Keep, which already stars Redford, Shia LeBeouf, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, and loads more! Congrats to Anna! Here’s more on the plot and the cast from The Playlist:

Penned by the excellent Lem Dobbs (”Kafka,” “The Limey,” “Haywire”) the story follows a former Weather Underground militant Jim Grant (Redford, naturally) wanted by the FBI for 30 years for a Bank Of Michigan robbery, who must go on the run when his true identity is exposed by a young, ambitious reporter hell-bent on making a name for himself (Shia LaBeouf, surprisingly). The cast thus far has mostly been stacked with older faces like Nick Nolte, Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, Richard Jenkins, Stephen Root, Stanley Tucciand Chris Cooper with rising star Brit Marling along for the ride as well, but with filming now underway, the final pieces of the casting puzzle have been put into place.

In what is a pretty random mix of folks, Variety reports that Anna Kendrick, Terrence Howard, Brendan Gleeson, Sam Elliott and 11-year-old “America’s Got Talent” finalistJackie Evancho will round out the credits. Either Evancho has a good agent, or Redford watches “America’s Got Talent.”

Anyway, Kendrick will play an FBI agent who dishes intel to her ex-lover played by LaBeouf, while Howard is also a fed who has been tracking Grant across the country and is eager to bring him down. Gleeson plays retired Michigan Chief of Police Henry Osborne who first investigated the robbery back in the day. Apparently Christie works in “the marijuana trade” under Elliot who she used to have a relationship with as well, while newbie Evancho is Redford’s daughter, who isn’t aware of his past.

In a new interview with Teen Celebrity Examiner, Anna Kendrick talks about the challenges of being a role model, and still remaining honest about who she is.

How do you remain a positive role model for young girls?
I don’t know. I have a funny thing about trying to censor myself. I don’t want to offend people. I know that a lot of young girls follow me on Twitter. Sometimes I think that something is funny and I decide not to say it because I don’t want to offend anyone. But then at the same time, I don’t want to anyone to think you are supposed to be “Miss America”. I think that’s just as silly. That’s not who people are. I guess I try to let a little bit of honesty show through while trying to put my best foot forward.

You’re human.
Yeah, just be human while not trying to setting anybody off. I don’t really see the point in faking it. To me, when I see that on TV I think that person must be exhausted and is that what he expects me to be? Not just publicly, but when I meet people for the first time professionally or personally. Do they expect me to be like that? Am I not allowed to be honest with people? You are! You shouldn’t underestimate what people are willing to forgive of other people.

Anna Kendrick is working hard in Hollywood these days, but she tells The Portland Press Herald that, despite her Oscar nomination, she still has to fight for her roles so she doesn’t get type-cast.

“The thing is, when you get a lot of attention for one thing, you get a lot of offers to do a very similar thing,” said Kendrick, speaking during her lunch break on set in Atlanta last week. “The challenge for me (after ‘Up in the Air’) was finding something different. So actually, it took some time to get that going.”

And on her upcoming film Rapturepalooza:

But as her current film projects prove, she’s not content to stick to any one style. As far as her film career is concerned, she wants to continue to try different things.

Take for instance, “Rapturepalooza,” due out in 2012. It’s basically a wacky comedy about what happens when the world ends and some people go to meet their maker. Think of it as “Left Behind” with a sense of humor and none of the heavy-handedness.

“It’s after the Rapture, and everybody who gets left behind is trying to find their way, but it’s a comedy, and it’s meant to be dark,” she said. “I play a girl who gets left behind, and the Antichrist (Robinson) gets it in his head that we should get married.”

San Diego Film Festival (SDFF), an annual celebration of film produced by the San Diego Film Foundation, announces it’s 2011 film line-up.

The festival will be celebrating its ten year anniversary this year from Wednesday, September 28 to Sunday, October 2 and will be screening more than 75 feature, short and documentary films. This year, SDFF is turning it up a notch by adding two more Short Film sections and one more Local Love section, celebrating local San Diego filmmakers.

The Festival kicks off with the Opening Night premiere of 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick and Anjelica Huston. Actress Anna Kendrick and director Will Reiser will be on hand to premiere the story of Adam, a 27-year-old writer of radio programs who is diagnosed with a rare form of spinal cancer and learns he has a 50/50 chance of survival.  Adam begins to discover what is most important to him when he is helped by his best friend, his mother, and a young therapist at the cancer center.  50/50 is the story of a man’s transformative, and sometimes funny, journey to health.

On Friday night, the much-anticipated film, Like Crazy, starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence, will be premiering. The heartfelt, absorbing love story follows a British college student as she falls for an American student, only to be separated from him when she’s banned from the U.S. after overstaying her visa. Like Crazy was recently chosen as the Official Selection at Sundance Film Festival in addition to being awarded Best Picture and Best Actress.

The Feature Documentaries section is better than ever this year with notable films such as Marathon Boy, the story of a four-year-old boy plucked from the slums of India trained to become India’s greatest runner, and The Bully Project, a film from Emmy-award winning filmmaker Lee Hirsch, a SDFF alum, that examines the dire consequences of bullying through the testimony of strong and courageous youth. Also screening is One in Seven, The New Face of Hunger, a film presented by Feeding America San Diego in support for September’s Hunger Action Month. The documentary, created by a group of students from Carlsbad High, aims to educate the public on the changing faces on hunger in the community of San Diego.

Also notable is Carlos Moreno’s Todos Tus Muertos, an Official Selection of the Sundance Film festival that features a peasant who wakes up to find a pile of corpses in the middle of his crops and East Fifth Bliss, a film starring Lucy Lui, Michael C. Hall and Peter Fonda, that tells the story of a guy who watches his life comically unravel after he enters into a relationship with the daughter of a former high school classmate.

Closing out the festivities is the soon-to-be blockbuster Coriolanus, starring Gerard Butler, Jessica Chastain and Ralph Fiennes. This film adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy features Butler as a banished hero of Rome as he allies with a sworn enemy to take his revenge on the city.

“We could not ask for a better line-up on the celebration of our tenth anniversary,” said Festival Director, Robin Laatz. “We are extremely excited about the caliber of films that were presented to us and can’t wait for our attendees to see them!”
