Final Harry Potter Film Surpasses ‘New Moon’ Opening Day Record

Looks like mischief has been managed by the final Harry Potter film Deathly Hallows Part 2. The Twilight Examiner is reporting that the final Harry Potter film has now far exceeded the opening day record that was previously held by the Twilight Saga : New Moon.

The numbers from Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2‘s opening day are in, and it has officially taken another Twilight Saga record – this time the Opening Day record previously belonging to The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Harry Potter‘s opening day totals reportedly came in at $92.1 million, well exceeding New Moon‘s record of $72.7 million in 2009.

This means that HP has also taken the New Moon records for Single Day Gross and Single Friday Gross.

I can tell you now that Breaking Dawn will not beat this midnight gross. And stop saying you want to "beat that title" just because you're pissed a movie is more popular than your precious Twilight. And before anyone else says "This iz Team-Twilight lol y u here ?" I only come to this site to see Taylor Lautner news. I actually hate Twilight. I've read the books and seen the films and they are nothing compared to Harry Potter. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but you have to come to terms with the fact that HP is the better film.

I love Harry Potter and I love Twilight, but Harry Potter is always going to have more love from me than Twilight. And stop with the "Harry Potter took our title, now we need to take it back." It's getting really annoying. Harry Potter broke records because fans of the series, young and old, and the people who grew up with it all came out, no matter what day and time the movie was playing. And if you really think about it, Harry Potter appeals to everybody, whereas Twilight appeals to mostly girls. Harry Potter audiences were both boys and girls, so the midnight gross was going to be huge. But when you narrow it down, it's just girls for Twilight so I really think there's a lesser chance of breaking the midnight record. Maybe you can take back the opening day gross? But I'm just saying that Harry Potter appeals to more people which is why it broke records whereas Twilight just appeals, mostly, to girls.
