Renesmee and Irina have been cast for ‘Breaking Dawn’

Meet the two latest cast members of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn! Renesmee Cullen and vampiress Irina have both been cast.

First meet Mackenzie Foy who will play Renesmee. EW.com is reporting the casting and you can view Mackenzie’s website here.

Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

UPDATE: Summit has confirmed the casting of Foy as Renesmee, via Moviehole.

In addition, Maggie Grace has signed on to play Irina of the Denali coven.

Twihards, meet Bella’s latest threat: Maggie Grace. The actress best known for playing the daughter in distress in last year’s Taken and Shannon on Lost, will play Irina in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, the final two installments of the Twilight franchise which are scheduled to begin filming in November in Baton Rouge.     I think Renesmee is perfect! Spot on! Irina isn't for me. I don't think she's pretty enough? IDK. I just don't like the girl they've chosen for Irina! But I applaud the choice for Renesmee!

    My daughter Aliyah Day tryed out for Renesmee she is 6 she did a great job too this girl is pretty as well though:)

    in my opinion, renesmee is wrong on some parts. she looks to old but digital can hepl. her eyes arent brown, herhair is too light. she needs to have hair as dark as robs. and... no thats it. as for irina, good but needs strait hair.

  • i think mackenzie is cute, but looks too old to play renesmee. and she doesnt have bellas signature chocolate brown eyes. i feel like they should have picked a 5 or 6 year old to play nessie.

    she looks too grown up! i think she should be chubby and round faced, like a small child shold be, not hollywood's cookie cutter image.

    why would they call Renesmee 'Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child' she isn't their 'love' child, they had been together almost 2 years and were married when Bella had her! a love child is one you have out of wedlock, and with someone you dont stay with! *huff*

    I pictured Irina as more muscle..isn't she from the amazon? Or am I thinking of the wrong person

    I think with a bit of CGI added she'll be great!! She's supposed to be more intelligent for her age so having an older child will be better!! and Maggie Grace is perfect for irina...i can already picture her :)

    While Mackenzie is absolutley stunning for a child, I'm not sure why they chose an older girl to play the part of a much younger one...???

    they hired this girl because even though shes 9 years old in REAL life, her looks make her look younger! i think she is perfect for her and its a plus because she resembles Kristen Stewart

    I guess they can get away with a lot being that children are sometimes hybrids of their parents....and they can always "CGI-it" a bit???
