Clearing up a few rumors about ‘Breaking Dawn’

Thanks to Summit for clearing up a few rumors that have been floating around the internet lately, mainly about Breaking Dawn, but also about the Eclipse DVD release date. I’m sure you have seen some or all of them, so we wanted to tell you straight from the horse’s mouth.

1) Many of you have sent me casting notices for Breaking Dawn. Any and all casting notices have been false thus far. There is only ONE casting director on the Breaking Dawn films, Deborah Zane. No local auditions are being held at this time. Please don’t fall for scams, guys! They are all over the place, and completely unrelated to the films.

2) If you have heard that Renesmee’s name will be changed for the film version of Breaking Dawn, rest assured this is NOT the case. (Thanks to Twilight Lexicon for doing the recon on that one.)

3) Xavier Samuel (Riley) was listed in the cast list for Breaking Dawn, Part 1 on IMDb.com.  This is also false.  Xavier and/or Riley will not appear in Breaking Dawn.  Keep in mind that IMDb is a member-updated site, meaning a lot of false information can get on there and everyone takes it as official. It’s not! (Thanks to Twilight Examiner for her investigative skills on this one!)

4) The U.S. release date for the Eclipse DVD has not yet been confirmed, so any rumors you have seen about the release date are without merit. International release dates with international distributors may well be accurate, but the US dates are still speculation at this point. When Summit confirms the date to us, we’ll tell you ASAP!

    I love how Stephenie has named Bella's daughter that, because it sort of shows how Bella is still a little bit immature how she puts the names together, really clever idea!

    Thank God I love the name Renesmee, I was so worried it is a very good name and it suits her

    It's going to be pretty hard casting for Renesmee isn't it? To find a child that looks like a baby or toddler but who is much older in their manner!

    Dang it, and here I was hoping they'd write Renesmee out of that film altogether. I'm not happy that this movie will be closest to the books; half the fandom (myself included) hates Breaking Dawn. But not JUST because of Renesmee. Edward is a secondary character, not just in the story, but in his own family--he takes a back seat to Jacob as a father. Bella's clinging to Jake well after the wedding is just inappropriate, and that "in utero" explanation is absolutely ridiculous; it comes off as a plot device to perpetuate the love triangle that was supposed to be eliminated at the end of Book 3. Jacob's affection for Nessie is downright creepy (it is just unnatural to raise an infant that you hope will become your wife someday), for which Bella utters only one protest before she completely gives into it. And Breaking Dawn contains one of the most anti-climactic climaxes I've ever read. In short, this book doesn't just need "small changes" for the movie, it needs a complete overhaul. Renesmee's name is just the tip of the iceberg.

    wow apparently u didnt read it good enough because jacob doesnt see nessie that way! and he wont until shes old enough. How can they get rid of nessie all together when most of the book revolves around the prenancy? It also explains the reason Bella is holdin on to Jacob and that is because the bond of imprinting is that stong that both jacob and nessie felt it before she was born. and as far as half of the people hating breaking dawn...not one person Ikno who has read the series hates the book! and Edward does not take a back seat to Jacob as a father because Jacob doesnt act like her father, he acts as the over protective big brother!

    really didn't like the name Renesmee when I first read it, mostly coz I couldn't say it right! it is a strange name but makes sense and to change it int eh movie would be daft, glad they are keeping it.
