I just saw the 1st season of the vampire diaries,because I was curius about this...but it's not so good to me...it was just ''ok''...On the other hand, I have already saw the twilight saga and also I'm a huge fan of the 4 books....this is the 1st time in my life that i'm obsessed about sth...''twilight mania''...

I love True Blood, its so good. Much better then twilight in my opinion. Controversial, but true. I love the vampires in True Blood. Very very sexy. Eric and Bill are amazing. Also, its so much more mature it keeps me more intrigued. Plus, Sookie isn't as much as a soppy annoying dumb retard like Bella. Pwoaah. True Blood is the best any day for me.

I am currently reading Vampire Diaries and that seems pretty good. Although I don't really like Elena - I mean lusting after Stephan that longingly, as though its life or death to stay as popular as possible. pfftt.

But both beat Twilight.

I love Vampire Diaries.. But i love Twilight more!

I personally prefer Vampire Diaries. It's better written and the TV show is AMAZING. It also helps that Stefan (Paul Wesley) is really hot. Damon is quite nice as well :) I still like Twilight, but I think Vampire Diaries is actually better.

I love the Salvatore brothers, Henry Fitzroy (from Blood Ties) and the vampires from Moonlight. I love Selene from Underworld. I love Blade (the Wesley Snipes character, not the TV show).

I love Dracula! In all the Dracula movies I always cheer for Dracula to get the girl and for Van Helsing to get eaten. Except in the movie Van Helsing where I cheered for Hugh Jackman, but who can blame me. He's Hugh Jackman!

I love Angel and Spike!!!

And I love David from Lost Boys, because he started me on this path of vampires.

The only vampires I don't like are the vamps from True Blood and that's not their fault. It' s the scriptwriters that can't get their heads out of the gutter and cheapen the vampires to the point of ridicule.

I feel and I think I am a huge twilight fan, really, but actually, I'm also a big fan of The Vampire Diaries TV show and books, yeah, it's an interesting story and characters, I really really like both stories, and I wouldn't choose, I just love both.

First think is first... both Vampire Dairy and Twilight are great as books. Second thing is second... trying to take a book and put into something that can be seen by millions is not a easy thing to do and I feel that those that worked hard to do so have done a great job. And third thing is third... who cares what came first. There are going to be things that are similar between them due to the fact that they are about vampires. There is only so much that can be written about vampires that is appealing to many different people and age groups. Now last but not least.. there are several difference between the two... like Edward fear of his kind hurting Bella... Stefan wants to protect Elena from Damon. The Salvatore brothers can go out in day light cause of a spell, where Twilight vampires can do it, only they sparkle. There are more but you get the point. Saying they are alike is like saying that dawn and sunset are the same. They may look it in some ways but they are not. Thank you.

I love twilight alot but i tried watching the Vampire Diaries but i wasn't interested i do have a suggestion for everyone if u haven't read them yet u should try reading the House of Night Series there is 7 books so far and i think there is going to be 12 so everyone who hasn't read them give them a try there is a website to check them out HouseofNight.com

I love any vampire movies or anything about vampires. The first vampire that I love is Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

i love twilight and the vampire diaries, they both, even though its kinda the same plot, have different stories which makes them both interestingand different in their own way :)

I was/am obsessed with the Twilight books, the first two movies just left out way too much. Now I've read all the Vampire Diaries and waiting for the next book to be released. Towards the end of the series I found the writing way to fantasy and too unbelievable but then again it's suppose to be for entertainment. NOW I absolutely love the Vampire Diaries TV series, but they aren't making the episodes fast enough and the next new episode isn't until March 25th so all repeats just when it was getting really interesting. I so love Damen he's such a bad boy. And I totally agree with one of the commenters with regards to acting capability. Vampire Diaries Stephan, Elena, Damon are much better actors then Kristen and Edward. I can't wait until VD comes out on DVD so I can watch over and over. As for True Blood ah to much T&A I don't particulary like it but my husband and son do watch (I wonder why)

it's both, it's a series of book by charlaine harris called the southern vampire chonicles, and a show on hbo call true blood, season 3 starts in june i think

Interesting, I hadn't realized that True Blood was original Southern Vampire Chronicles. I've see the True Blood books at Borders. Next time I'm in there I'll need to check the Southern Vampire Chronicles out. Was that the name of the original books? There are so many coming out or that have been out it's hard to keep up with. In a people mag a new series was being advertised (books) and I tossed the magazine without writing the name down I'm so pissed. There are several others that look interesting but I'm not sure what the order is. I don't want to pick up the last book in a series and start reading the end. It gets a bit confusing.

Nothing beats the Twilight books, but I agree the TV show "The Vampire Diaries" seems to be as good as or better than the 1st Twilight movie, although "New Moon" movie tops them all so far. And I am hoping "Eclipse" is even better

Nobody's mentioned "True Blood" or the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries. Great viewing and reading for adult vampire lovers.

Is the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries only in book series? How many to the series? I'll need to check them out the next time I'm in borders. Are they on the same lines as True Blood? I tried to sit and watch True Blood but it just didn't grab my attention.

the sookie series all have dead in the title for example dead until dark is the first one.

I found True Blood to be very much like Twilight, only the characters were flipped with the mind reading thing. Couldnt really get into it, but Vampire Diaries I great. Bit of Twilight, Supernatural, Buffy n True Blood all roled into one. It definitely dont beat Twilight though!!

OMG I SO LOVE TWILIGHT NEW MOON BREAKING DAWN AND ECLIPSE (got them all on dvd) (but i got breaking dawn and eclipse burned on disc) soo.....any way I LOVE IT!!!!! LOL

How can you possibly have Eclipse and Breaking Dawn burned to DVD when Breaking Dawn hasn't even started filming. Or are you talking the book version DVD? I think you may be confused.

Soy muy fanatica de Crepusculo! Pero me tengo suficiente lugar para otra saga de vampiros.. Obviamente ninguna va a ocupar el lugar de Crepusculo.. TroBlood m gusta muchoo! Ya vi las 2 temporadas..y ahora estoy viendo The Vampire Daries q tambien tiene lo suyo!
