[UPDATED] Rumor patrol: Eclipse trailer before Percy Jackson? Not so fast…

There is a rumor running rampant today that the Eclipse trailer will premiere before Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, out Friday (February 12).Â I just want to point out a few things.

First, this was posted on an IMDB message board.Â Anyone who wants to can post whatever information they want on there, whether it is true or not.

Second, no source was sited.Â And responses on the message board are asking for a source, and the original poster is not giving it out.

Third, looking back at the original poster’s other items on other message boards, it looks like he/she does a lot of guessing at when trailers will come out, and is not always right.

This poster has good reasoning behind the assumption.Â This is what he/she says:

It is meant to be a surprise but I am telling you all now.

2 of the producers of Percy Jackson are also producing Eclipse so trailer will be attached to PJ.

Last year a PJ trailer was attached to New Moon due to the same reason i.e. 1 producer from new moon was attached to PJ.

This happens a lot in the industry. PJ and Twilight are books and the producers of both films know each other so 100% guaranteed that Trailer #1 of Eclipse will come out with Percy Jackson.

But that is what it is: an assumption.

Who am I to say it is wrong? I am not saying that, but don’t believe everything you read, just because it is on the internet.

So what I am saying is this: We are all anxiously awaiting the new Eclipse trailer. If it is attached to Percy Jackson, then YAY! But let’s not get our hopes up.

UPDATE: Twilight Examiner has confirmed through the studio that the Eclipse trailer will NOT premiere in front of Percy Jackson.

You WILL see the trailer in march during the MTV awards though. That is true.

I agree ya'll the trailer is something we're all looking forward to, but wouldn't it be so much better to be watching the tele and all of a sudden you see the trailer pop up, I mean think about it guys, you'd be all OMG OMG OMG hyperventilating for sure. Don't lie, I would, and you would. The element of surprise is the best part.

to be honest, the trailer came out about 6 months before it was released, and its like 5 months till eclipse, so they should really bring it out soon! they cant leave the fans waiting!

Not so fast, I read on the Team Twilight sight a while back after Slades tweet that a trailer COULD be shown/ready and shown with Percy Jackson. At first I didn't realize what they meant when they mentioned Percy Jackson.

why do people have to know when the TRAILER comes out? i mean yeah im super excited for eclipse too but it would be cooler just to see it on TV unexpectedly! and besides we can wait. if ur a fan of this page then i 101% know that this site will tell you when!

I agree...show the trailer already. I thought they were pretty much DONE editing the film so putting together a teaser should be EASY! FEED US!!!!!!

I'm anxious for a trailer, but I hope we don't see as much of Eclipse beforehand as we saw of New Moon. Just two or three previews/trailers/whatever is good enough. Keeps it suspenseful and exciting!!

i agree with you on that, it git way out of hand with all the new moon trailers. i kinda thought it was a bit much because its pretty much giving it away. why not leave us with a little surprise when we watch it? :) ooh eclipse.... can't wait! :D

The New Moon trailer was out 6 months before the movie actually came out. I was hoping for the same this time and there is only 4.5 months until Eclipse comes out. I can't wait to see the trailer but no one seems to know when it's going to be out! I mean, don't they know we're ADDICTS??
