This is exciting news! Anna Kendrick has signed onto a new film that will also star James McAvoy and Seth Rogen.

Mandate’s cancer project is back on track.

The company’s untitled cancer dramatic comedy starring Seth Rogen and James McAvoy lost its director in November when Nicole Holofcener jumped ship due to locations differences.

Now Jonathan Levine has been hired to replace Holofcener and Anna Kendrick, riding high off her performance in “Up in the Air,” has also joined the production.

McAvoy stars as a 25-year-old who learns he has cancer, a character based on the real experiences of screenwriter Will Reiser who was diagnosed with cancer in his mid-20s and successfully battled the disease over several years. Rogen also has a role in the film.

Kendrick will play the role of Katherine, a young psychologist assigned to handle Adam’s case despite her lack of real life experience.

She is really claiming her spot in Hollywood. Can’t wait to see what she brings to this film.
