2009 Name of the Year: Renesmee

The Baby Name Wizard has announced its 2009 Name of the Year. The name is sure to shock non-Twilight fans because they just won’t get it. But their chosen name is Renesmee. Here is what they said about choosing the name.

We’ve counted down the first and second runners up, and now it’s time for the official 2009 Name of the Year. Brace yourselves, name enthusiasts, because it may not be what you’re expecting….

Renesmee.

Yes, it’s another Twilight name, which makes for a potent and timely launching pad. But the impact of Renesmee goes far beyond vampires. This name is the spark that lit a long-building cultural bonfire to usher in the Age of the Mashup Baby Name.

Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has said that she chose the name because no normal human name would do for an otherworldly creature like Renesmee. It also strikes me as a realistic choice for a couple of teenage parents. Undead or not, they live in a time when creativity in baby name is prized, particularly by younger parents. What’s more, they live in a celebrity-saturated world, in the long shadow of Bennifer.

i can not wait for breaking dawn. i have read the book and just seeing eclipse makes me want to see more of this saga. me and my friends love the wolf pack. we hope to see them more in breaking dawn. jacob, embry, jarred, and quil are our favorites. and they are really good at acting to.

I have actually choosen RENESMEE for a girl if my baby is a girl i find out in January but if its a boy i have choosen Kellan- MASEN (Kellan Lutz because i love him as EMMETT) AND (Masen because its Edwards human lastname) cannot wait to find out im hoping for a girl but eitherway im not bothered..

Man people you guys need to shut up and read the freakin books in the first place when renesmee was in bellas belly he wanted to kill her! but right when he first saw her it was like love at first sight A.K.A imprinting so from then on he loves her and fells very protective of her like edward to bella and yes renesmee is bella and edwards baby even though vampires have no sperms somehow it happened so u might want to understand your reading instead of just daydreaming and not understan :P

Jacob imprinted, but Renesmee just naturally likes him, like he was her brother, because she is too young to understand love in a romantic way.
