Chris Weitz: Don’t spoil the ending!

Chris Weitz tells fans that he hopes people who see the movie don’t spoil the way it ends for others.

“The final scene is extraordinarily emotional, and it leads to a very potent climax,” he told MTV News on the red carpet of the NYC screening of “New Moon.” “And it’s kind of a spoiler, which I hope people won’t give away.”

“I feel really good about the final product,” he said. “I feel it was as close to the final product as I could make it, which was an honest version of the book and something that a fan would appreciate. So it’s not made for any particular demographic, except for the reader of the book who really wants to see it visualized.”

I think that if you didnt read the books already, then you arent really a true Twilight fan. People should already know the ending. I absolutely HATE it when people just watch Twilght/New Moon and the future Eclipse/Breaking Dawn just to see the actors. Yea they are hot, but your just watching it because they are hot and not the actual story line. People really need to get a life, because when i went to go see New Moon, i bet about half the people there just went to go see jacob.. or edward..and they dont even know the story line. Its stupid, just get the book and read it! The books are WAY better then the movie anyways and you dont have to wait till the movie comes out.

It's true you have to read the books. In less than 2 hours you are not going to be able to put all the importants things. There are always some things that are going to be left out and change. Read the books they are like kallie said way better, it's more action, more romance. I have read the 4 books like 4 times, you don't get tired of them.
  • LinnyC
    SO TRUE!!!
  • Beckyta
Yes, I totally agree. Because if you don't read the book don't understand all the love story between Bella and Edward and also you don't understand the Jacob's hurts.
  • JaJa_Girls_Mami
I couldn't have agreed more Kallie! Me and my husband went to go watch it, and he was so confused(he hasn't read the books of course). And of course he would be because the books have way more detail then the movie ever would. Most all the ppl in the theater said "Augh" at the end. If they only read the book they would know. I just wanted to see the book come to life...and it was "Ok". Hopefully Eclipse will be better!

I def. agree with you Kallie. I hate it when everybody is screaming for them all the time, but yet they dont' know who so & so is like Alice or Carlisle.

Yeah it was so irritating because when we went to watch the movie all the people talked in between and they made so much noise. I've waited so long for New Moon to come out like any real Twilight Saga fan would and all that those people do is critisize the actors and the things they do in the movie, and they don't understand the movie at all. Then they keep asking questions like, "Who is that guy?" or they pronounce the people's names wrong, like this one girl behind me said "That's is Sam Julie". It sounded so stupid. They try to brag about knowing everything, but the only thing they do is make themselves look like fools!

I disagree with Kallie. I think you can be a true Twilight fan without reading the books first before seeing the movies. I am different than most fans because I am waiting to read each book until after I see each movie. I am doing this because I know the books will be better than the movies (most books are) because there can always be more details in a book than they have time to put in a movie! So I don't want to be even a little bit disappointed when I see any of the movies, so I am going to see each movie first, and then read the book. I see so many fans posting that the book New Moon was so much better than the movie, and I don't want to feel that way when I see each movie. I saw New Moon at the midnight showing, and I thought it was awesome! I loved it!!

I have a deeper respect for Twilight as a movie now that I have seen new moon, the directors worked within their budget so it is expected that NM was going to be better than T,.. Try something peeps.. Go and read Midnight Sun - i'm only up to page 75 so far and i'm already amazed at how well Rob conveyed this in Twilight,.. it's no surprise Stephanie Meyer gave him the book to get into 'Edwards' head,.. for me it puts a whole new spin on his character and makes the two movies 'together' amazing.. And yes like all others LOVED the ending of NM... had tears rolling down my cheaks with the Bella/Jacob part tho.. awwwwww heart broke.. can't wait for Eclipse and when they finally KISS cause it better be good, we were only teased through all of NM that they were going to and didn't haha
  • LinnyC
i read Midnight Sun and loved it soooooo much from Edwards perspective....almost more so that Twilight :)
  • fantaznz
exactly!! its so descriptive and if I hadn't seen Twilight and how edwards character actually 'IS' then the way he acted wouldnt make sense,.. you'd just think he (Rob) may be an 'OK' actor,.. not an incredibly talented one.. it makes so much sense now!!!
  • Melina
I thought Midnight Sun hadn't come out.
  • fantaznz
it hasn't but there are 250+ pages that were leaked on the internet a while back so Stephanie Meyer posted it to her website for people to download and read, it is unfinished and she hasn't been back to finish it thus far,.. but its fantastic reading!
  • LinnyC
it hasnt ..u can read 12 chapters on her site or on wikipedia

Are you people stupid or what??? "Chris Weitz: Don't spoil the ending!" Is the name of the post and you go and post the ending...what a bunch of retards!
  • Team_Rosalie
This is a discussion, which means people can say whatever they want whenever they want whether you approve or not! Besides everyone that has posted has seen new moon, so it's not spoiling the ending is it?! Chris meant don't spoil it for people who haven't seen it, and pretty much everyone on here has, so its not gonna be spoiled is it?! God, get a life AND a brain!!
BTW name calling ISN'T cool, neither is the word 'retard', grow up.
  • paulfan
Yeah and why would people who hasn't seen the movie want to read all the comments. They are smart enough to figure out that they're not supposed to read comments and stuff about the movie if they don't want to know the ending...Duh...
  • delaina
The movie was awesome but what happend in the ending I don't remember if it really happened in New Moon, I thought it was in Eclipse but oh well I guess I have some re-reading to do lol
  • megannrenaee
It was in the middle of Eclipse.
It wasn;t suppose to be in New Moon or it wasn't in the book.
That's the only part that made me mad. :D
  • Irene
Ummm NO... He DID PROPOSE TO BELLA in NEW MOON! Look in Chapter 23 or 24 in the book NEW MOON! He proposes to her when they get back from ITALY!
  • Team Jakeward!
He gave her the "Marry Me" condition at the end of New Moon, but he didn't actually formally propose until chapter 21 of eclipse (i think it's 21).
  • Irene
Edward DOES PROPOSE TO BELLA IN THE BOOK "NEW MOON" It's after they come back from Italy!!!It's in Chapter 23 or Chapter 24.. Read the book peeps!! The BOOK IS AMAZING!! And ALOT more detailed!
  • LinnyC

  • LinnyC
