He is a crazy, talented director and I would hate to see him sell himself short and quit now that hes in his prime. Not to say New Moon was his prime, but now is definately the time to stay in the movie business. If its not broken, dont fix it. Same goes for, if you are great at what you do,stick with it. Obviously he deserves to do what makes him happy. But I do truely hope that he sticks to his calling which seems to be appropriately deemed Director.
