nah i dont think i would have been a twifreak today if i havent read all of the books ..its jst far by different and waay amazing ..i watched the movie before i read the book and i wasnt really a fan until my friend recommended me to read the books and thts where i fell in love and i watched the movie again and appreciated it this time and i wont be tired watching over and over again this time cuz i wanna see it on screen like it is in my head ..

No way if you haven`t read the books you are not a fan and you are not close to be one; Are 2 differents things, like the movies and be a fan And haven`t read Stephenie Meyer twilight saga is a crime; Please don`t tell me you are a fan if you haven`t read the books. In the movie you can`t feel and understand all the characters feelings and not all the parts of the books go out in the movie. So the people that haven`t read the books go and buy it; Start reading this awesome aventure, and when you start reading no way out you have to finish and you can`t never never forget the love aventure you have read. This book is a dream so far from you expectations, Is not a common book is not a book is a life and aventure a dream come true and is no way out and you can`t let it go. This is a unique opportunity don`t waiste it. You are the best Stephenie Meyer, please write another book after Breaking Dawn the story can`t end there.

I would have to say no and this is coming from me I was never one to read books than watch the movie I did that with harry potter and the prizoner of azkaban and it was horriable but with twilight it all changed I think to be a twihard fan you need to read the books and not once but many times I have lost count on the times I have read the books ofcourse im crazy so I have two twilight tattoos the logo and the poem from eclipse called fire and ice. but this is just my two sence.

Of corse no one can be any fan if you have not read the books. Most of the best parts are in those books. also the personality and story behind all the characters is in the books and thats what makes you love and drool over them. most actual fans have read the books more then once.

I agree! They are not real Twilight fans if they havent read the books. I even have a friend, who loves Taylor and Rob, is mega excited about New Moon, is even getting the t shirts and stuff, and she hasnt even read the books. I even say to her 'Why dont you just read them?' She says summat about she prefers films. But if she was a true Twilight fan she would read them. It has more depth and detail. You cant call yourself a real fan if you're only going by the movie.

All the people who just watch the movies know NOTHING about the series and probably arent very literate to begin with. let me ask you a question: What did Bella originally agree to do with Edward the day she went to the meadow and why? oh guess what you dont know the answer because you've only seen the movie. Bella said she was going to the city to avoid going to a dance and Edward asked to give her a lift, instead it turned into the famous meadow scene all dieheart twilight fans have read about. the version YOU see is a jumbled up bit of stupid nothingness that happens during school. that scene makes no sence in the movie because if its sunny the Cullens DONT GO TO SCHOOL. and you wouldnt realize that would you.....

I was first brought into Twilight by the movie(I work at a video store) but, after watching the movie I wanted to read the books. I couldn't put them down! I read all four books in 4 days. The movie is great but the book is soooo much better. I think that you can be a "fan" but not a "die-hard" if you haven't read the books. Of course the men are gorgeous and who wouldn't be a fan of that? So if you haven't read the books READ THEM! It will only make you love Twilight more!!!

Not properly you can't be. Just more likely to be liking the people who play the characters rather than the characters themself. True Twihards are in love with the books and the films are an added bonus that adds to the awesomeness : ]

i watch the film first. then i said " OMG, i want to know what's happening after" so i bought all the books.
you can't be a "die hard fan" (as Briana said) just watching the film. that would say that you are waiting about 1 year to know what's happening to Edward and Bella!!! that's impossible!!!

I saw the movie first, and that made me read the books, but to be a true twilighter, you have 2 have read the books! How could you not??

nop becuase you wouldnt understand because theres is so much stuff in the books that are not in the movie

also you cant just e a fan really just becuz who plays in it. you have to read the books and get to know the characters that way. not just by appearence. like edward is mysterious and talented. but jacob is out there and funny and likes to have a good time.

you cant get all of whats happening in twilight, new moon and all the other books if u have just watched the movie and the true emotions and what bella is thinking, because you dont see what bella thinks over everything around her as well as jacob in the last book. the movie doesnt show everything in the book, such as it doesnt tell you about jasper power or really anyone else, it just mainly stays on edward and alice. but in new moon you wont really get the relationship between bella and jacob and how bella slowly gets over (and really slwoly) and shows how she slowly starts to love him. but at the end of it end of it, it shows that no matter that bella started to jacob that edward was the more important and she went arunin'. but you also get all the background things thats going on. so i say that you have to read the books and love the books to be a total die hard fan. if you just watch the movies then your not. its simple as that.

If you were a real die-hard Twilight fan then you would definitely read the books. If you can't or don't like reading, then you'd listen to the audio books. I know a lot of people who say they're huge Twilight fans, but they really just like the movie because of Rob, etc. For me, watching the movies without reading the books would be like having one small bite of the big juicy apple!

I agree you have to read the books to be a true fan. I remember watching the movie on cable on a bored afternoon at home. I saw it and loved how mean James was and liked the love story and decided if this is intriguing the books have to be amazing. And they did not disappoint. I read them so quickly and I remember reading New Moon on the bus back and forth from school and work and I cried so much because Edward had broken up with Bella and I could identify with her feelings. I remember I was asked by the bus driver one day is everything ok, I see you got on the bus crying and you've been tearing as you read. I looked at him and smiled and said yes, but you wouldn't understand why I'm crying unless you've read it. He looked at me and smiled and thought it was funny but agreed that no movie can ever convey the emotions that are expressed in a book.

I say that you can be a fan of twilight witout reading the books , I watched Twilight and fell in love with it . I understood the connection between Edward and Bella . I read All four book more than once because I wanted to know what happened after twilight. Its called suspense and there are probably alot of twifans that skipped twilight and read New Moon first , just like I did and I had no problem understanding.
I'm just saying that YES. You can be a fan of twilight witout reading the books.
And if anyone has a problem with that well i dont really care!
