People’s top 5 best things about New Moon

After the press screening of New Moon last night, People.com brings us the Top Five Best Things about the film.

SPOILER ALERT!

Jacob Black’s Body: Photos of Taylor Lautner’s amazing transformation from a scrawny kid to a rippling teen werewolf already have been making the rounds for months. But the first time Lautner rips off his T-shirt to reveal his muscled chest onscreen, the sight is still gasp-worthy. In fact, Lautner sizzles and smolders throughout New Moon as he walks the line between friendship and romance with Bella (Kristen Stewart). Though Bella’s heart belongs to Edward (Robert Pattinson), Launter may steal Pattinson’s heartthrob status right out from under his pale nose.

Bella and Edward’s Reunion: When Edward comes to the (incorrect) conclusion that his love, Bella, is dead, he decides there is no choice but to commit vampire suicide. Of course, the only person who can save him is Bella. When she launches herself through a crowd and across a fountain in an Italian square to push Edward out of harm’s way, the sparks that fly between the soul-mates are like fireworks.

The Wolf Pack: The actors who play Jacob Black’s gang of strapping pals provide the perfect mix of teen tension and ferocious loyalty that exist between the group of guys who realize that one and all are actually werewolves. They snarl and yelp, tease and torment each other, and of course, fight together just like Twilight Saga author Stephanie Meyer describes in her series.

Dakota Fanning: She plays the pint-sized vamp, Jane, who wields a daunting power – simply by concentrating she can cause her victims to convulse in excruciating pain. She’s not in the movie for very long, but when she focuses those red eyes on her targets and softly whispers, “Pain,” everyone will squirm.

The Sense of Humor: While the Twilight series is based overwrought teenage angst, director Chris Weitz lightens the mood with some well-placed humor. Bella’s human school friends provide comic relief. When one of them has to leave a horror movie because he’s ill, Launter’s character laughs and says, “What a marshmallow.” And when a member of the wolf pack accidentally changes from human to werewolf right in front of Bella, another member quips, “Well, I guess the wolf is out of the bag.”

I just hope they haven't added or changed anything from the book although i loved the actors chosen for the movie i disliked Twilight because of the choppy, depressed feel of it. Bella is quiet and shy but not dark!!!
  • chaos2003
Hmm People.com must not be familiar with the books because SMeyer wrote in the Mike/Jake/Bella horror movie date. Weitz doesn't deserve all the credit there. But I am looking forward to all the points listed.

This information has made itself known by the trailers. I guess it'd be spoilers for some if they didn't read the book or watched the movie trailers. Never know, I guess. :)

Ah, I'm soo looking forward to seeing Mr.Taylor Launter. ;) My friends and I are gonna go on that Friday morning (they graduated from high school and I'm home-schooled) and I feel like I might squeal too much for him. ;) The Wolf Pack is also amazing. Oh, and don't forget Edward Cullen... Team Edward and Team Taylor! haha

I am looking forward to the movie... I do however, have something to say... I wonder regarding Dakota Fanning playing Jane... so many were dead set against her being this character, I for one wasn't one of them, I have since reading New Moon, prior to them even announcing there being a movie being made for the first book let alone the 2nd one... imagined her being a really great candidate... she, IMO will rock this character and do it really well! I look forward to her performances furthering the evils of Jane into Eclipse and the journey into Breaking Dawn as well... I just hope the people that were so against it won't act like they were "so happy they chose her" back before New Moon was so close to coming to the theater nearest us all!
As for all the other "spoiler" stuff mentioned above... I do agree, unless you have lived under a rock, had no clue what the heck Twilight or New Moon was or hadn't read any of the books... and never seen any of the trailers then most of the stuff would be spoilers... the only thing I do not recall seeing/hearing was the Marshmallow statement by Jacob in the theater... that was a new one.
