Details on plagiarism claim agains Stephenie Meyer

Did you know Stephenie Meyer is being sued for plagiarism for the second time this year? The lawsuit claims that Stephenie plagiarized another book when writing Breaking Dawn. Here is the update:

his time, Jordan Scott, author of the 2006 fantasy novel, The Nocturne, has alleged that the fourth installment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, bears a “striking and substantial similarity” to her book. Meyer has had to defend herself after the publishers were sent a cease and desist letter by Scott.

Scott has now taken the matter to court, filing a lawsuit on Wednesday, 19 August 2009 and seeking damages and to confiscate any Breaking Dawn copies up for sale even though Meyer maintains that the claims are “completely without merit”. Scott notes that the two books bear many similarities, such as the plot lines, themes, dialogues, mood, setting, pace, characters, sequence of events and ideas. She also notes that Breaking Dawn is different from the first three installments of Twilight and appears to be written by a teenager, just as her novel, which she began writing at the age of 15, does.

    And she's probably just doing this so that people get suspicious and buy her book...it's a good idea actually, I wld buy just to compare....but not matter what, breaking dawn is better.

    If this was the other way and Meyer was suing someone for stealing cute little vampires that sparkle, you guys would be sooooo happy! I don't care if it's Scott or somebody else, the truth should be told.

    Look, the facts are the facts, if this is all BS, then it will just go away, and Meyer will be the queen, but if this is true, Scott will own the Twilight Saga, and I hope she has a book burning party!!!

    So all you tards should just relax, Scott is just a publicity seeking bitch, and this is all a joke, and life is good here in Twilight Ville :)

    yes the truth should be told which is why i posted this link http://www.aolcdn.com/tmz_docu... everyone can make up their own minds but still jordon is reaching just a bit and she is seeking money for damages if meyer is in the wrong then shame on her for stealing a very badly written boring piece of crap but i doubt she did the story line that is close in both books is the pregnant woman carrying evil child that ends in womans death that idea is very very old and is in many legends

    You tards are so stupid! its not a joke or a hoax, it is a law suit filed in Federal Court.

    Scotts book was written and published online in 2003, before twilight, before forever dawn, and before breaking dawn! look it up.

    She is not seeking publicity, since this has been out there for a year, Meyer has done nothing to resolve this and left Scott no choice. She is not suing for money so she is not trying to cash in.

    And if this was all bull, then why did it go from a demand letter, to a cease order, to a federal case?????

    It happens, Meyer was under deadline, she took the money, she could not come up with another novel, so she copied from a lesser known author!

    Facts are the facts, if this is not true, it will all just go away, like magic...right?

    if this is true how come they never found out last year when BD was actually published! and now they decide thats its copywrited thats just pathetic so why would stephenie want to copy someone else's wen she already had the characters to begin with and a story in mind hmmm.

    They did find out last year when breaking dawn was newly publish, and a cease letter was sent to meyer over a year ago! nobody went to the public or the press, no one got any publicity, but Meyer did nothing! that is why is has come to a law suit fnow! Can't you people read?

    I think Stephenie probably laughed her ass of when this claim came to her knowledge. Shes got forever dawn and her FAQ about the diffs between it and BD. And with all of that coming way before breaking dawn that stupid teenybopper has nothing to go off of. I want to spit on her Noctourne book. The more I read the cease and desist order her lawyers sent the more I laughed. What woman who finds out shes pregnant doesnt look down or cradle her stomach? what PERSOn doesnt run their feet through the sand. How many people go on a honeymoon to a beach. Is she copywriting wedding nuptuals and everything vampire because seriously if thats the case.. everyone (including hollywood) has been ripping off ann rice for years!     this is bullshit r they effin serious nonono i have read many book s that r similiar in certain parts so what at least the whole storyline is different and anyways that is what makes the books so good!

This just totally looks like a publicity stunt for that other woman, but not a very good one because more people will hate her now than like her. Does she not know how much we fans love the Twilight Saga and will probally do anything to defend it?

    the video even says that meyer registered with copyright 2 years before that chick posted her crap book online.
    if any one has a lawsuit it would be ms stephenie meyer.
