According to an Australian press release, Rob is among the contenders to play Jeff Buckley in a biopic of the singer’s life. Per the Courier News:

Guibert will oversee the film project with producers Michelle Sy (Finding Neverland) and Orion Williams (Control) and screenwriter Ryan Jaffe. Script pending, actors including Jared Leto, James Franco, Robert Pattinson and James Marsden are interested.

Pattinson has already proven he has the singing chops. I am sure Twilight fans would rejoice if he was cast in this role.
